Haruno Sakura

Ok, first of all I'm not a Sakura fan nor a hater, but I wonder why is everyone blowing things out of proportion. She might have been a crybaby at the beginning of the series, but she has matured a lot. The only emotional weakness she still can't deal with is Sasuke, which is completely understandable. Next thing, she is a MEDICAL ninja for God's sake, so why does everyone expect to see her fighting alongside Naruto? Surely, she can throw a good punch, but that's not her role in this war. I really don't see how she's useless, being out there saving people's lives. Of course the medical squad won't be directly exposed to the fight. What good is losing people who can heal you in a war? And comparing her to Hinata is just ridiculous. Don't even get me started on that. They are different type of ninja, both good at what they do. You can only compare them pairing-related, but that's completely irrelevant to the main story.

It could be just pure hate, her being a main character yet barely playing much of a role in the story now a days, fans getting annoyed by fans of said character, not much development aside from the middle of the first and the start of the second series, fans of another character they wish to take her place, she cries too much, underestimating her characters skills, annoyed by her attitude, blowing her mistakes out of proportions, or a whole lot of other reasons.

Yup! Sakura isn't even a combat specialist....makes no sense for her to fight.

Also, her role has always been a shadow styled support.

Gaara, Kankuro, Kakashi, and even Naruto are kinda doing what they are/were doing because of her.

Sakura's poison cure saved the Ambush squad captain and the Combat General that rallied the army (this being done by using her cure while being controlled as a human puppet to defeat probably one Akatsuki's stronger members...by keeping Chiyo from death she indirectly saves Gaara). Also note she managed to catch Zetsu's screw up and proceeded to catch him. This allowed her to figure out what he did, and thus allow that information to pass on. This of course allowed people like Shikamaru to develope counters to this threat!

Some people don't acknowledge her role as a support position as they probably see it as something for a side character not a main character.

Very true. If you view her as a support character to the protagonist, she's very useful. Being stuck with the two main characters of the story makes people expect greater things, when she was not meant to be their equal.

I don't like Sakura and I think the reason why everybody is having a hissy fit over her not being in the latest chapter because we saw everybody BUT her. Even Shino got some panel time. I think people are just annoyed with that aspect and don't think she's much of a heroine anymore.

I find her annoying. IMO, she is a typical high school girl who chases after the bad boy type, even though a close friend who would die for her loves her. I don't hate her, I just like hinata better. However, I like Ino over both of them. Out of the three of them, ino is the most normal. She isn't "royalty" like hinata and she isn't the protagonists love interest. She's a simple girl who works part time at a flower shop. I don't hate Sakura, I just like others more.

Guess so, she seemed alright with her fight against Sasori, the skills she obtained during the time skip were cool (better than Naruto's big Rasengan), then the Sasuke reunion and bam her skills are suddenly forgotten, but yeah some do take it to the extremes when jumping on the hate train.

Yeah she WAS. But don't you think she's over all that now? After all, she did attempt to kill Sasuke herself and taken the burden of her promise off Naruto's shoulders in order to protect him.

So a character has to be an almighty God like Naruto to be appreciated? .. I guess people do prefer idealistic over realistic characters.

Even though she is a b*tch sometimes, she isn't that useless, but she isn't that good either (except for her medical jutsu). Her superhuman strength is only for comic relief in my opinion. :P

She doesn't have to be like Naruto to be appreciated. I don't see what she needs to be appreciated for, she isn't doing anything special to benefit anybody.

I don't like Sakura because for one she has a normal background type and characters like that are rather bland to me, in other words characters like that are bland don't stand out in the story to me. To add onto that Sakura being "normal" she is not going to be able to relate or understand complex characters like Gaara and Neji for example. Second Sakura whole ordeal with Sasuke to me is....well stupid lol, I mean Sakura character does circle round Sasuke I get that point, but why I don't like the way this was presented in the story because it gives the wrong message about liking someone. Sakura in part 2 pulled a fake confession on Naruto and trick her comrades, so she could deal with Sasuke herself(which hurt her character to me badly), but Sakura ends up not able to fight Sasuke and because of that Sakura almost got killed by Sasuke without hesitation, Sakura said she would be prepared to face Sasuke when the times come, but couldn't cause she is still in love with him,..... yeah that's love :sy:.

3rd and final Sakura's lack of development in the story. Sakuras main development in part 1 was of course the chunin exam (well done) and really that's it for part 1 lol. For the time-skip Sakuras main development comes from the beginning of the time-skip because her growth was shown here, how she was able to use medical ninjutsu and learn enhance strength for combat good. After the first arc of the time-skip Sakura character to me switches to a support type character until the kage summit arc, but that arc back fired on her. Sakura is suppose to be one the four main character of the story along with Naruto, Sasuke and Kakashi. Out of the four Sakura lacks the most development and her character doesn't stand out compared to Naruto,Sasuke, and Kakashi. Kishi had plenty of chances to make her character stand out, but he didn't do a good job with Sakura and at this point the story to me she is irrelevant.

I see it as this now:

Sakura(main character)----> Sakura(support character)------> Sakura(stands in the bg to say hi)
