Water Nature Release Is The WORST OUT OF THE 5 IN THE NARUTO UNIVERSE

Now don't get the title mistaken. Their are plenty of anime series and even in real life situations where the fundamental of water is an importance with great strengths. But in the Naruto world, it practically is useless. Here is why:

1) Water nature is effective against Fire...but according to the Naruto World: Fire can also be effective in evapourating Water. We've seen Fire do that job plenty of times.

2) Besides the Uchiha, who else utilizes Fire in the Naruto World? & even the Uchiha themselves have occular eye jutsu's to back them up against a single water jutsu fighter. Judging from how much water-based soldiers were required to extinguish Edo-Madara's fire based jutsu alone during the beginning of his summon.....I can leave this subject immediatly.

3) Earth nature absorbs water either through plant or mud. In real life however, there are different variations of Earth elements which are absolutely Weak against water but of course lets stick with the Naruto World. So Earth takes the champion belt home.

4) Lighting feeds, grows and sharpens her whole body from the waist line on water. just look what happened to Suigetsu when he was hit with Darui's Lightning. He was completely paralyzed like a Game Boy Pokemon Magikarp against a Raichu.

5) Good old Wind. Well, I think this is neutral. But then again, if the wind is strong enough, it could direct the water back to the user:confused: Can you imagine drowning by your own saliva:shrug:


So my point is, that the only purpose for water in the Naruto Universe is to be used as a stepping stool for kekkei genkais. From Ice (Which also sucks by the way if you do your research) to Wood or Boil release. The rest of the other elements have a greater purpose and ordinary users can go further in battle by using any 1 of the elements besides water. So much for the hidden mist village! What you guys think?

The problem with the lightning argument is that in cases like Darui's water technique, if the OPPONENT is using a lightning jutsu, they basically just strengthened the attack that's about to hit him. They'd have to push the water back in the opposite direction for that to work, wouldn't they? I think the whole lightning + water combination leaves a lot of possibilities myself.

Overall it depends what jutsu you get out of Water Style. The Hidden Mist, most/all of Kisame's attacks, Yagura's mirror technique, and some others that I'm probably forgetting seem pretty powerful.

The lightning reason may possibly depend on the strength of the attacks. Like Chidori vs that massive shark thing that absorbs chakra that Kisame uses. Also there are many other powerful water jutsu in the narutoverse that I could use as an example.

According to the manga when Edo-Madara's first encountered the allied forces, it took a whole row of Water-based ninjas to even neutralize his fire based jutsu. & to bring more evidence of this, look at the warm up battle with Itachi vs Kisame. How in the world did Itachi's fire neutralize Kisame's Water? I can't answer that but it did happen.

Yeah don't get me wrong. I do agree with you that it is quite powerful when combined with other elements to make bloodline moves but either then that, a single water based ninja has no purpose. Only Danzo has used the Wind affinity well, besides the Rasenshuriken.

Only fat people have Earth.

Well that's only if you look at nature advantages by themselves. IIRC, if a water and a fire jutsu strike w/ about the same power in both of them, we are led to believe that the water jutsu will overcome the Katon. If the same happens between an earth style and a water style jutsu, the water jutsu will inevitably fail unless it's a special circumstance. So overall it's fair and balanced. The only real way I can see it being unbalanced is the idea that there aren't as many fire style users in the NU as earth style users.

In the end the nature advantage is only worth taking note on in certain fights. Do most of the Konoha Rookies even use an element when fighting? By strictly feats, water style is actually really versatile. Even w/o KG usage. Water clones, water projectiles, pressurized water prisons, and a blinding mist were all benefits that Zabuza got without a blood line! Of course I assume that water ninja are better when water is already present.

I could be getting the entire idea of your thread wrong but meh
