I know nowadays everyone hates Lil Wayne except a few, don't get me wrong he fell off but he doesn't suck. He's just a decent rapper now, but 4-7 years ago when he made Carter II, Carter III, and Da Droughts/Dedication mixtapes, would you say he was the best rapper alive at that point? I would.

he dont suck its just what the industry want him to do. who they want him to appeal to. thats why most of the songs he comes out with now can get steady rotation compared to before when all them cuss words were blockin the songs from being on......plus he isnt on drugs.......wayne sober and him on drugs are TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE

Decent? C4 is trash and so is D4. He fell off as soon as C3 was dropped. He started going mainstream like every other artist does. 2002-2006 is the Wayne I know. Also, don't come to the thread and state that you hate rap and go off topic. It's like going to a thread about country singers

You might say its completely opinion based, which isn't entirely false, but saying who is better is different than saying who your favorite. Good try, but no. I used to love rap and hip hop, like 4-5 years ago. I then came to the conclusion it's garbage and started listening to classic rock, as I did before I listened to rap and hip hop.

Modern music, in general, lacks the same soul and complexity as classic rock. Taylor Swift said she wrote 'Never Getting Back Together' (or whatever it's called) in around 25 minutes. When Led Zeppelin wrote Stairway to Heaven (which alot of it was "stolen") in 2 hours, that was considered incredibly fast.

In my opinion,.Lil Wayne is just someone you listen to when you want to bump your head a bit, not when you want meaningful rap.

Lil Wayne is terrible. He has never been the greatest rapper alive at any point in his career. He doesn't have any classic albums. Carter 2 is decent but not classic. Also it's pretty pathetic that Birdman buys Waynes albums to increase sales.
