Obito's counterfeit EMS

How has Obito been able to spam his MS technique so often and not go blind, he doesn't have EMS and only one eye and his fighting style revolves heavily around this? Can anyone explain? Is this the Senju DNA? Also why is he holding back while fighting Naruto and co. he could have absorbed Naruto's rasengan or even used almighty push to stop himself from getting hit, on top of that he is not using mokuton. Obito has so much potential he either just sucks or is not trying.

I don't know, seeing as Sasuke gets random power ups when he's angry, I'd guess Tobi powers up even more, seeing as he has far more hatred than anyone in the narutoverse.

But nah, probably has to do with him having a special MS, senju DNA and all that.

Regarding Tobi not using Mokuton and his Rinnegan against Naruto:
He's currently trying to summon the Juubi, which probably requires the full use of Rinnegan. It was already stated that he was unable to use it's powers while he was controlling the other Bijuu. Now it's the same, but only instead of controlling several Bijuu, he's controlling Gedo Mazo as a whole. :shrug:

Regarding Mokuton...
Although he was shown to be able to perform a small branch in the cave, I think his ability to use Mokuton: Sashiki no Jutsu in the latest manga has a lot to do with the Zetsu clone he's covered in.
He has shown regenerative abilities before, during his fights with Torune & Fuu and Minato, which is his Zetsu parts Mokuton based ability, but the only time he was shown to use actual offensive Mokuton was in the latest manga, when he was covered in Zetsu.

He did, but he was impersonating Madara back then.

Oonoki questioned him and asked why a man of his (Madara's) caliber would resort to such tactics. Tobi was just trying to justify why he wasn't using any of Madara's powers. :shrug:
