I don't care whether you like bleach or not, but to any decently intelligent person I think it's pretty obvious that Kubo never originally intended for that concept and that he almost certainly came up with that recently.

Byakuya's bankai was shattered during his fight with Ichigo, but It still managed to come back, are people not going to call Kubo out for this shit?

It was byakuya's bakai that broke not Ichigo's.

Though I do recall Ichigo's bankai breaking during another fight later on.

Byakuya's bankai is made of many tiny blades. Technically it can not break. One of the many blades can be destroyed but he will still have millions more. The same thing wityh renji's bankai that has multiple parts so even if one is detroyed many peices remain. He probably did pull this out of his *ss but he still has a not contridicted any past manga.

Although it's out of the blue, I'm actually excited. Mayuri said "A broken Bankai never goes back to how it was". When Ichigo's bankai is fixed (lets be honest it will be fixed), he might have a different form of GT or he'll just ditch GT altogether and get a new bankai power. Change is good.

It amuses me people would make such threads this early on in the arc as well. There's still a shitload of explaining to come - makes you wonder what kind of "plotholes" they'd try to find then.

Though, Kubo is not entirely blameless. He did pretty much build up his reputation as Troll Mangaka after the whole ordeal with Aizen. It doesn't surprise me people would still think of him as one, though I'm sure his image will be fixed if he keeps up the good work...

Byakuya's bankai was not shattered, it was deflected (eg like two blades hitting eachother, senbonsakura is just ~1,000,000 blades)

I do agree completely, however, that the concept was an ass pull. A better example would be Renji's bankai, no difference whatsoever when he fought in SS vs HM

Actually, the million petals form into the white imperial blade, and as Byakuya says that attack focuses all on offensive power. So basically, it's the same. Senbonzakura Kageyoshi has equal amounts of offensive/defensive power, whereas this is all for killing/defeating the opponent.

It also imploded when it tried to attack Mayuri in Hueco Mundo, but I think his might be a poor example because its a living thing rather than just a weapon. Not to mention I'm sure he's done countless experiments/enhancements with it.

...It doesn't matter if it originally comes out the same form or not lmao. It is plainly an ability of his Bankai. For example, Daiguren Hyorinmaru has multiple abilities as well. None of them look the same, but they all utilize ice. Exact same thing with Senbonzakura, all abilities are made from the million petals. Don't see how you can say white imperial blade is not his Bankai. It is just one of numerous abilities. Senkei does not appear as petals, but the petals become swords. Does that mean it's not his Bankai?
