Why does everyone like Hinata so much?

I wonder myself why everyone likes her so much.

So why? What is it about her that's so special?

And I've read that Hinata fans think that she's the best choice for Naruto, mainly because she has been supporting him from the start and Sakura never felt anything for Naruto, she even lied to him saying she loves him, that's just nasty.

I think she's a genuinely good character, but I disagree with the hate on Sakura completely. I have no idea why she gets so much hate. I actually like her character alot.
