Shikamaru vs. kimimaru

Wow, you guys are really sucking up to Kimimaro.

Shikamaru can beat Akatsuki members because of his intelligence. Shikamaru can even analyze Madara.

Shikamaru would have Kimimaro's bone technique figured within a few seconds.

Shikamaru would win this. Especially if Gaara gave Kimimaro so much trouble. Plus, Kimimaro is a Part I character, Shikamaru is in Part II and even stronger.

I can see the scenario being... Kimimaro gets his bone dagger out. Shikamaru immediately hit him with his shadow technique. (Kimimaro is a close range fighter, which is to Shikamaru's benefit) Shikamaru makes a stabbing motion toward his own chest with a fist and Kimimaro follows in suit, stabbing himself in the heart. (Unable to block his heart as well at this point considering he's under Shikamaru's control)

And it's over.

I agree with you and your example. They give kimmimaro WAY too much credit. If a person can analyze all of your abilities within a few seconds and find a way to counter them, then they have a greater chance of winning despite their lack of strength.

Kimmimaro was also shown to have weaknesses as he was unable to follow unpredictable styes like the drunken fist even when he did figure out how the style worked as shown with his fight with Lee. Shadow techniques can also be very unpredictable as Shikamaru has cleverly shown through every one of his battles.

kimimaro wins if they go into battle with no knowledge even if shikamaru has knowledge he aint winning unless he has like 2 days prep time

For those of you who are saying Shikamaru would win with his shadow neck binding technique, you do realize that Kimimaro's skeletal frame is impenetrable...especially if he's at 100% health. Orochimaru stated that even with Sasuke as his future vessel, it still frustrated him that he lost Kimimaro as an option; a body that's resistant to all physical attacks.

Shikamaru is a damn genius with an IQ of over 200 (which is ridiculously high by the way), but realistically, that would only get him so far. Kimimaro is also an intelligent and analytical fighter. There aren't make things that Shikamaru could do to Kimimaro that would hurt him...

That's exactly the point right? We don't see how Shikamaru can beat him. That's exactly why he would beat him. He's smarter than any of us.

Considering Orochimaru wanted Kimimaro as his next vessel... (he never expressed any interest in shikamaru) and kimimaro was about to kill Gaara and Lee when he died of his own illness... i vote Kimimaro. Shikamaru would give him a good fight tho
