Gaara is one of my top 5 favorites of the show, but he would get destroyed by Naruto. Granted they both got stronger but with Sage Mode gaara is screwed. Hell I think even without sage mode he could still beat gaara, hes already done it once

... i think naruto. his sage mode was enuf to fight square on with the 9 tails. the only reason he needed his mothers help was coz of the tug o war thing. sm naruto is STRONG. i reckon he could even suck chakra out of gaara's sand, tho im not sure. i also think maybe ras-shuriken is strong enuf to break the armor of sand, or at least put huge dents in it, potentially crushing gaara with his own sand if he's hiding inside. if gaara traps him, he can just take in more sage energy. while it would be a huge epic battle, i think naruto wud eventually win.

Well i stated that a normal chidori could break i said rasen shuriken because rasen shuriken would break through defence and kill gaara that's why i said rasen shuriken cuz i know a normal rasengan could break it, and for ppl who say gaara has the best defence the answer is :No if a oodama rasengan could break his sand that mean's he's not the strongest def i think the best def is Itachi's and 3rd raikage's....:D

Sage mode Naruto did not beat pain ,after destroying konoha pain fought sage mode naruto with three boss summon toads,Ma and pa and information from Jiraya and Kakashi and he still got captured 2 times and once as the 9 tails so dont say gaara could beat the 6 paths of pain because he couldnt.
Secondly Gaara has got beaten twice by naruto without sage mode and seeing as they are both getting stronger the outcome would be the same gaara would lose

Naruto wins, maybe if they were in a desert Gaara could stand a chance, but I still doubt that. Gaara has some good defenses, but Naruto has a wider arsenal (I know right?? Naruto having a bigger arsenal then someone??) then Gaara, and then Rasenshuriken i'm betting would demolish his defense., RIP Gaara.
