Shikamaru Would Never be Hokage

1. Shikamaru's dad, who is stronger AND smarter than him, was never offered the position of hokage.

2. Shikamaru's too lazy to take an IQ test, he'd never be up to the amount of paperwork that comes with the hokage job.

3. While Shikamaru has the will of fire, he doesn't have the sitck-to-it-ness to follow through on it. Unless he's motivated by revenge >.< (see the fight with hidan)

4. Shikamaru's not strong enough. The only reason Shikamaru managed to beat Hidan was because Hidan was a dumbass. He'd never stand a chance against any other akatsuki member.

I've said this before and totally agree with you.

He is more like a right-hand man, than a Hokage.

Being hokage doesn't make you smarter.
He'd have the same amount of smartness, and wouldn't lose his laziness because of some sort of gain in knowledge.

Otherwise, he wouldn't be lazy as a non-hokage.





But I could TOTALLY see him as an ANBU.

infact they even said it once(i just couldn't rememner when/who) that shikamaru can be future hokage

Shikamaru would make an excellent advisor to Naruto in the future. Didn't he help liaison the chunnin exams so he's already trusted with planning and organizing events. That wouldn't require much effort on Shikamaru's part.

it's totally true...shikamaru couldn't be the hokage.....but what about naruto?do you ppl see him doing that things?


and maybe shikaku was smarter and stronger...I don't think he is anymore....The previous generation is always surpassed by the next one....so if naruto > jiraiya....saske > orochimaru....sakura > tsunade (later probably)....why not shikamaru > shikaku?? ...ino will be an exception she won't be stronger than her father...never..lol

i agree with some of what you said shikamaru wont be hokage though he is a good candidate i think he will be naruto's helper like shizune to tsunade though he will prob get bossed around by sakura cause she will be by naruto's side bossing the heck out of him

I can see this happening. Naruto won't be a good hokage as well, but he has to be because he said so. The 1st created Konoha, 2nd played big part with the uchiha's. 3rd was a smart strong stuborn old man. 4th was a genius and the 5th is good at protecting. But those 2 stupid elders who are supposed to advice are only causing more trouble. If Naruto becomes hokage, he should fire them and give shikamaru and maybe shino that position. And re-establish the konoha military police lead by sasuke. Solve some problems in the hyuuga clan with Neji and Hinata, marry Sakura. Kill Ten Ten. Spy on Ino in the shower. Eat some ramen with Chouji. Fight a little witl lee and Gai. Make some art with Sai. Thank his teachers. And then Naruto would be finally over.

Asuma said he'd make a great hokage, but also that he'd probably hate it. I doubt Shikaku is smarter than him, but he's had more experience and might be a bit wiser... as for strength I wouldn't doubt Shikaku is notch above... at the moment.

I think the one reason he won't be Hokage is because the name of the series is "Naruto". Naruto is going to be hokage some day, which puts Shikamaru in the back seat. After the arc with Asuma dying Shikamaru really changed. He really understood the "will of the fire" and he really matured. He realized that it was time that he needed to put his laziness behind him and that it was now his turn to protect Konoha. IMO he would make a much better hokage than Naruto. Hes much more reasonable, smarter and understanding.
