Shikamaru Would Never be Hokage

The title explains itself.


1. Shikamaru's dad, who is stronger AND smarter than him, was never offered the position of hokage.

2. Shikamaru's too lazy to take an IQ test, he'd never be up to the amount of paperwork that comes with the hokage job.

3. While Shikamaru has the will of fire, he doesn't have the sitck-to-it-ness to follow through on it. Unless he's motivated by revenge >.< (see the fight with hidan)

4. Shikamaru's not strong enough. The only reason Shikamaru managed to beat Hidan was because Hidan was a dumbass. He'd never stand a chance against any other akatsuki member.

i agree that shikamaru will never become a hokage...

I think its debatable on who's smarter at this point. After Asuma's death Shikamaru and his dad play Shogi and his father wins. Being better at shogi doesn't translate to being more intelligent, but this may have been Kishi's way of telling us that Shikamaru still has a ways to go.

when he was playing shogi with his father .... he was mentaly destroyed (due to asuma's death)..and he was not playing well ..if you watched the animated episode (when he playing with his father) he threw the table which they were playing on, so his mind was somewhere else ... maybe planing how to defeat hidan and kakuzo.
what do u think?

In that page its after Shikamaru avenges Asuma and has come to terms with everything, but he still lost to his dad. But I think his description of who the King is is what would make him a terrific Hokage. Hes still young yet he is mature enough to understand.

First of all I've never heard Shikaku Nara being more stronger AND smarter than shikamaru in mangas...and his dad was never offered the position that's not the case here coz kakashi was definitely a choice for hokage but i have never heard of white fang to be a hokage.

It's tru that Shikamaru is very very lazy but he's changed from the asuma incident...

About how strong he is, Tsunade is also not as strong as jiraiya or some of the ninja but why was she chosen to be the hokage?? Shikamaru will be chosen coz of his Intelligence, the right time to think with right conclusion.The plan he made during hidan indicence was awesome. I think there is only some ninja's who might have thought like that.The plan would have worked even if hidan wasn't so reckless and Dumb$$$ ninja.

But I Think That he is one of the best candidate for a hokage when time arrives however HE may not want to be...
