War only leads to destruction, it'd have to be a very 'nature friendly' war to be any efficient, it's no good way to go about.

I remember back in the day when the earth only had 6 billion people on it ...

The solution is relatively simple: if every one woman of child baring age only had one child for their entire lives there wouldn't be a population problem.

Not only that but then every one in the world would become a great deal enriched, monetarily & in land ownership, since inheritance and charity would go through the roof by way of the wills of the baby boomer generation along with those who are older than that.

If we take away peoples financial aid completely then there will be hundreds of millions of starving people in the streets.
