nagato/rinnegan - one of the 6 paths?
http://www.narutobase.net/manga/Naruto/510/16
we see there that tobi claims nagato or the rinnegan is the "3rd" of the 6 paths. if those eyes were originally madara's and the rinnegan is evolved from the sharingan (being the uchiha power), how is it the 3rd of 6 paths. the other 2 paths obviously being senju and uchiha.
can anyone explain?

Re: nagato/rinnegan - one of the 6 paths?
I think the six paths refer to things left behind behind by the sage that would be the key to becoming like he was.
1.Rinnegan
2.Juubi
3.Uchiha blood
4.Senju blood
5.The Sages Weapons
6.??????

Re: nagato/rinnegan - one of the 6 paths?
I think it's a translation mistake possibly, and he was refering to him just as it says, the third sage, third person to get rinnegan?
Sage
madara
nagato?
or maybe indeed as kingofsharingan said
1.Rinnegan
2.Juubi
3.Uchiha blood
4.Senju blood
5.The Sages Weapons
6.Uzumaki blood?
uzumaki and senju seem to differ, uzumaki's possess incredible longevity.
or maybe the 6th is byakugan, :S

iThink it just means that he was third in line to obtain the rinnegan.

Re: nagato/rinnegan - one of the 6 paths?
What the **** is this shit?!
People are still stuck with this bullshit translation? This was a mistranslation error there are no 2 of the 6 or 3 of the 6 paths. The error was that transltors used "Rikudou" as a word not as a name. Tobi originally said "I am the second Rikudou" "Nagato the third Rikudou Sennin". Then translators put "Rikudou" translated into its literal meaning which means "of the Six Paths" just as the literal meaning of "Sennin" is "Sage". This is just like if they translated "Naruto" into "Ramen". Tobi was saying he was the second Rikudou, aka the second person to become a Rikudou and Nagato was the third.

haha ty for the translation. i didnt really join (or i should say follow) any forums and "discuss" it with other readers as much. just me and my friends read and enjoyed the story. so none of being japanese and actually reading the raw, we just had the translations that were available.
