If God exists, he must be omnipotent, for various reasons, he created time and space and matter. He is all knowing, all powerful. If he lacks one of these attributes, why call him God altogether?

We are here, the universe exist, therefore, some time God decided to create it. But, and here is the problem, to decide to do something means that you have a certain desire, namely the desire to do something (to act).

But a desire needs a motive, it can not come into existence by itself, a motive is intrinsic to desire.
Bare with me now, how can a perfect God, an all powerful all knowing God have a desire at all?

If God exists, he already is the supreme form of everything good, the ultimate pleasure, wisdom, happiness. These are all boundless for him because he is God.

So a God, if he exists, will not act, why should he? He has no reason whatsoever to even consider to act. He can not desire anything because there is nothing that can make him wiser, happier etc.

This is the only reason religion, mainly christianity annoys me. It assumes that non believers are people that 'have not yet seen the light (pardon the pun)'. They assume that the unenlightened need to be informed and made to understand god. I think this kind of thinking could be somewhat compared to cult logic. Besides I thought christianity was supposed to be a deeply personal and spiritual journey - not one they someone convinces you into.

Regardless everyone has a different opinion that is equally as valid as the next. Just because someone does or doesnt believe to me is irrelevant. Its is when people try to force their ideas on others that I find it irritating.

On a side note I do not believe any such god exists. If he was as great as everyone claimed he was then he wouldn't let such bad things happen. Instead of waiting for you life to have meaning in your afterlife, why not make the life you have now more meaningful.

I dont understand your question. Are you trying to say its good that god (if he actually did exist) lets bad things happen?

Pro - no one would have terrible things happen to them

Con - no one would get sick (so I guess thats bad for the bacteria and viruses) and maybe gun salesmen would lose money on bullet sales ?? Why would there be cons?

my problem with god isnt that, its two things

1. he decided to leave eve to sin us all, even though he could see the future and knew it would happen

2. (according to my household's religion) god created us so we could worship him. what does he want with worship, hes all-powerful, what more could you want? also, the say that god is soooo loving, yet he kills anyone who doesnt believe, or want to worhip, him. why doesnt he leave us be and allow us to progress the way we want? kill all the people whou murder, rape etc like that and leave the peaceful, just getting by people alone

but he does not kill non believers. if he did. half or MORE then half of NB would be gone. including the person who made this thread. he made us to worship him. but he also gave us a choice to worship him or not. he WANTS us to worship him. but by all means if u dont. then dont. he want congradulate you at the big gates in the sky

So what is your answer for other religons what if i beileve in buddha or the muselim god would i go to hell because i wasnt raise to beileve in your god?
Or do you consider god to be everybodys god at once and if so why did he give people all diffrent religons so they could fight each other?:shrug:
