you're right, it's impossible to break through the yata mirror defense of Itachi's susanoo... but the thing is, Itachi can't use Susanoo for too long (unless he's the edo tensei). His Chakra would decrease pretty fast and the only thing all the rest of akatsuki would have to do is wait for him to drain his chackra. Originally Posted by Yo Momma San

He gets raped to the 20th hell (there are only 9 hells by the way).
Deidara already had counters to Itachi, he would had lose but it was clear he would had came close to killing Itachi, add all others and it is overkill.

actually he wouldn't, he came close to killing sasuke but itachi is a different story. he didn't have an answer for tsukyomi, diedara was too emotional and couldn't control himslef, he would have been too careless to look in itachi's eyes because he thought itachi would cast another normal genjutsu on him, but then BAM, it turns out to be tsukyomi. he aslo hasn't really shown much to dodge amaterasu.
