Background info.
History: Dan was born to Ryuu and Mito Kennon. Ryuu was a jounin level shinobi who was known for his close combats and brute force. He died during the re-seal of eight tails from Killer b’s cousin to Killer b. Dan’s mother Mito was also a jounin level shinobi known for her beauty and intelligence , she was skilled exceptionally in ninjutsu and nintaijutsu.
Dan always wanted to be like his father, a great shinobi who chose the well being of everyone over himself. Dan is a very gifted child, possessing the strength and powerful chakra of his father as well as the beauty and the wisdom of his mother.
Dan joined the ninja academy at an early age and graduated with very high remarks. Knowing that his son has exceptional abilities, his mother entrusted Ryuu’s sword to him. A year passed, Dan became a very capable genin under her mother’s guidance. So, team Mito, which consists of two more members’ shizuko and Satoshi, was given a B-rank mission to infiltrate the kirigakure, which is a possible hideout of akatsuki. During the mission, the team was attacked by Yagura’s guards who sensed the presence of team Mito. Being a jounin level ninja, Mito and his team fought vigorously defeating all the guards of Yagura but Mito was fatally injured during this fight. She was taken care by shizuko who was a skilled medical-nin. The team completed their mission by finding out two of the Akatsuki lairs but the intervention of zetsu cost the life of Mito Kennon who passed all information to Dan asked him to take it to kumogakure as soon as possible.
This information helped kumogakure to tackle the constant attacks of kirigakure.
Dan and his team members Shizuko and Satoshi were highly praised. People of kumogakure mourned the death of Mito Kennon. Blaming akatsuki for his mother (also sensei)’s death, he vowed to eliminate the akatsuki organization and bring peace in this world.
