its not like the cops are taking a shit or its their personal lives, the media records cops doing this kind of thing all the time, theres even a bunch of ****ing shows dedicated to that, shouldnt those shows and their creators also face the same punishment if its really all that bad?

That's nothing compared to the new Legislation passed by the Senate. It allows the military to hold a US Citizen indefinitely and permanently, without trial, if they are suspected of terrorism.
That combined with the US Patriot Act sounds a lot like living under totalitarian rule.

Stupid law. So, if you see a cop making something illegal, you can't record it to expose him. If you don't, his word has more value than yours so you have to keep quiet as nothing good will come of speaking about it. If you do, you end up in jail for recording them without their consent. Sorry, but are the US crazy?
Luckily here we can tape anything the police does as it falls under the public domain and as such can be recorder and scrutinized at will. Any place labeled as public can be recorded. The only exception is private security cameras that can record you but must be identified as you can't be recorded without you knowing (but you can without your permission). But in the street its fair game. Record at will. And police can't stop you from doing it except to protect the identity of a victim in, lets say, a car crash for example.
I think the USA is trying to get order but in all the wrong ways. And that thing Gama said...really really? Thats the simple result of being a paranoid country regarding terrorism.
there just trying to cover there as@ for when they do the next rodney king style beating on someone so nobuddy has proof of what they will do, that your taxes dollars a work go USA

Yeah it's true. Quite scary actually. Seeing as the US would become a dystopian society, exactly like, "1984 by George Orwell." I could call my local police and say, "Hey, I heard my neighbor talk about being a terrorist in Al Qaeda, and I'm fearing for the lives of myself and those around me." and have them detained for their entire life. :\
