AotW #56 : The Past

Welcome to the AotW contest:

The theme for this week`s AotW is the Past! You can include in your album any type of pictures that demonstrate past cultural artifacts. You can also show the development of a specific tool or art over the centuries or make comparisons between past and present.




The purpose of this contest is to judge the best job a member can do by creating a personal album under a specific theme.
Before you submit make sure you read the Rules
and if you want to discuss anything about the AotW contest please do so here: Discussion Thread.

How to make your album:

1. Every week a new theme will be announced and you will have to create your album based on that theme.
But you also need to choose a style for your album, anything at all, for example:
Black and white, only from one website, avatar pictures, only .gif pictures etc. It can be anything, but you have to chose a style and mention that style at the title of your album like this: "AotW #1, only black & white".

2. You can add 12-18 pictures, no more - no less, and all pictures must respect the forum's rules. If one or all your pictures are custom made, please mention that fact under every picture as a comment.

3. After you create your album, you can edit it only until the submission time ends. I will check on the time your pictures are edited.


Your albums will be judged based on:

-Creativity.
-Style Idea.
-Originality.
-Pleasant to the eye.
-Difficulty of finding the pictures.

Note: 1. As said in the intro, I've chose Typography as style because letters and words were the core of the influence that those people had over the World and still got. While for some those words were translated into speech, some into dialogues, some into literature, some into lyrics, some into thoughts, some into creativity and some into ideals - Every domain of those personalities were revolutionized by those 'words'.

2. Those words signification differs. Some are quotes by the person, some are words to describe the person, some are words that marked the world, some are their glimpses of creativity, some are their achievements ect...

3. I had to re-size some of the pics due to Memory insufficiency. Since it's typographic style, I think to reads most of those words will be important. Thus, for some, I'm posting the pic in their original size as comment.

4. None of the above typographic creation were done by me. All were found by browsing. The concept to do a theme album on it (by collecting them) is the only thing I'll take Credit for. Sorry for the long note!
