did minato have sage mode

Yes he had some training with the old toad, because he had a contract with the toads as well, so it is safe to say that the 4th was some kind of sage

But he's talking about being able to use Sage Mode not just be a Sage.

To answer this thread, I think he didn't have it. He would be just too overpowered. I guess he had toad summoning and maybe some other techniques but I think he didn't have Sage Mode.

well that's a good point, but your option takes to much input from your imagination, Fact the two other people that had contracts with the toads had sages mode which allowed them to do sage arts.
the 4th was a student of j-man and naruto was a student of j-man, contract with toads, name shown on the contract

these clues give insight into a higher probability of the 4th having sage mode then not.

and for those how saw why does, the mange not show him in sage mode, well in all situations where he was fighting he did not need to use sage mode,
1. large group of ninja- used ftg, and the ninja were not a large enough threat to use it
2. fight with the fox- no reason because, fox was to strong and the sealing jutsu would kill him anyway.
3. sage mode was thought of as last result, but naruto has changed all this :-)

No, he did have a contract, but only because J-man made him sign (like naruto when he was young). There's no need to even go to Myobokuzan to sign the contract!

He definitely had. Minato trained with Fukasaku just like Jiraiya. He was much smarter than Jiraiya and Naruto. The first thing they learn in training with Toads is Sagetechnic.

Ok, I admit. I failed. He did not need SM. SM is for those who cannot afford to think like 4th. :D. Jiraiya was baaka like Naruto when he was young. Sorry, no offense. Naruto IS smart now. I admit that as well.

I say again. I failed and that was a big mistake to my feelings and mention that Minato had actually Sage Mode. Sorry for that.
