Black Star has bright blue spiky hair, with the spikes sticking in out in the manner of a star-shape. He is rather short, but has a well-muscled build due to constant training. His eyes are green and when under the effects of madness, his eyes adopt star shaped pupils, which is seemingly a distinct trait of those belonging to the Clan of the Star. His main outfit is a sleeveless black shirt with a funnel-like collar, with white trousers that are black from the knee down and just a little short of being full length jeans. On the front of his collar, two short strips of grey material adorned with rivets stretch down fro, the top of the collar to the breast of his shirt. Black Star has similar strips wrapped around his neck in the form of a scarf, and around his waist in the form of a belt. Rivets can also be seen on his pockets and on the ends of his trousers. On his hand, he wears gray fingerless gloves with heavy wrist weights and has a band going across the back of each hand, adorned with a star. Black Star's footwear are basic black boots with white tips, with a star shape visible on the toe of each boot.

On his right shoulder is his star-shaped tattoo, showing his heritage as a member of the "Star" Clan which is just a shade lighter than his normal skin tone.

As of recently, Black Star now wears blue pants with the hemline rolled a few inches above his ankles, with white shoes and a white belt that is similar to an obi. His feet are wrapped in bandages up to his ankles and his hands and arms are also wrapped in bandages up to the elbow. As per his previous attire, Black Star wears a sleeveless top. In this case, it is a custom, white, muscle shirt. Another new addition is a long white scarf, wrapped around his neck with the majority hanged loosely. He also has a fairly noticeable scar running across his tattoo on his right deltoids, numerous smaller scars scattered across his arms, and a faint scar-line running down his right eye—all of which were caused by Mifune during their last match. The spikes in his hair are a lot messier and not as star-shaped. Black Star has also grown in height, almost equaling his partner, Tsubaki.

Personality:
Black Star starts off as rather arrogant, loud immature and narcissistic. Although he fights as an assassin, he prefers to forget the Way of Assassination by shouting and making his presence known, the reason being that he is a massive attention-seeker. He cannot stand having someone else get more attention than himself, and will proceed to beat down anyone more popular than him so he can be popular again. His loudness is often shown in his tendency to often shout when he speaks and his trademark cries of 'Yahoo!'

Despite his rather large ego, there are more positive sides to his personality. Although it is hard to tell through his arrogance, he does genuinely care for his friends. He always arrives to his friends' aid if they are in danger, seeing himself as a protector of the people whom he classes as weaker than himself. It is shown in team battles, that he views the safety of his friends as a priority. However, he will also take his friends' wishes into account, and will step back and allow them to fight alone if they want to. He also has a determination that knows no bounds. He constantly trains to become stronger, and is dedicated on his goals, putting all of his effort in everything he does (this has its downsides, especially when Black Star develops tunnel-vision on pursuing something that is wrong, being too stubborn to see the wrongness of his aims). He prefers to go his own way, which sometimes involves going against orders. However, despite his determination, he always fails at tests of intellect regardless of the effort he spends in studying. He never forgives the people who hurts his friends, setting off immediately to get revenge in order to defend or restore respect to his friends.

Mifune and Kid are prominent figures in Black Star's life, and they help him mature profoundly. When Black Star is frustrated and indecisive in his pursuit of power, they both help him decide his choice in life. During and after the infiltration of Arachnophobia's castle, Black Star changes dramatically. He retains most of his positive traits, remaining honorable and sincere both in and out of battle, and still cares for his friends, but most of his negative traits, like his arrogance and his temper, are no longer present. He no longer declares that he is going to surpass God, and he actually starts to admit his faults, saying that some people can do things that even he cannot do. He also develops more respect for his superiors, treating people more like equals. He is more cool-headed and focused in battle. He no longer pursues power in order to stand out and surpass God, but to protect his friends and help maintain order in the world. He decides not to take the 'Path of the Demon' but the 'Path of the Warrior' and he seeks to become a 'Warrior God'. He also develops a great sense of responsibility, as he decides to redeem the names of the ones fallen by Masamune's blade, and to grant Masamune's wish to master the way of the warrior, even if it means causing suffering to some people.

Background Info.
History : Black Star was born in Shibusen, a small town under the protection of The Land of Iron. Like other shinobi nations, this one utilized the way of chakra, but not wanting to lean so heavily on the use of ninjutsu as others, they would still teach the way of the assassin.

Sixteen years ago, a group of vicious assassins known as the “Star” clan had made themselves known throughout the land. The clan was known as a group of people who did anything for money. They victimized people in many areas, killing many innocent people, which made them infamous in various places. Due to their actions, they were eliminated one by one, by the dominant samurai forces of the land. Only an infant at the time, Black Star would be spared, and taken in by Shibusen, where he would be raised by a man named Sid Barret.

As a young child, he developed an interest and passion for fighting. Taking note of his apparent interest, Sid began relentlessly training him, tutoring him in the ways of assassination, helping him to gain incredible reflexes, speed and strength. However, despite showing great skill and talent in his abilities, he was still ostracized by many blaming him for everything that the Star Clan had done in the past. It was also due to his large ego that people ignored him. Even still, Black Star bears no malice over the loss of his clan, because he understands that his parents led a wretched life and eventually paid the price for it.

When Black Star turned thirteen, he left Shibusen, and decided to travel to the Land of Iron where he could further enhance his skill personally. During his time in the land, he befriended a girl named Tsubaki Nakatsukasa. When she heard he didn’t have a place to stay, she invited Black Star to live in her home during his stay, to which Black Star happily accepted. The two quickly became good friends, and began to do everything together. Like Black Star, Tsubaki had great a great determination to grow stronger, having something to do with her older brother, but when Black Star brought up the subject, she said she would tell him in due time.

After two years in the Land of Iron, Black Star decided to return to Shibusen where he could take on missions, only this time, Tsubaki would be joining him.

Their first mission would be to eliminate the gangster Al Capone, and the rest of his thugs. Upon arriving however, they find the bloodied bodies of Al Capone and his men lying all around, having been killed off by someone else. The one responsible soon reveals himself to be the powerful samurai, Mifune. Assuming that Black Star and Tsubaki were after the little girl Angela that he had sworn to protect, the stoic samurai warned the two to leave. Ignoring his warning, Black Star simply boasted that if he were Mifune, he would be afraid of “a man as big as himself” too. And with that the battle began. Being unwilling to harm a child, Black Star managed to catch Mifune off guard, landing a blow that ended in Mifune’s defeat.

Black Star sparred him however, as Angela appeared, begging him not to harm Mifune further. He could not bring himself to take the life of another in front of a child's eyes, and so without a second thought, he returned back to Shibusen-unaware that this was not the last he would see of Mifune.

During their next briefing, Tsubaki and Black Star were told that their next mission was to locate and defeat a man named Masamune, who had been killing off innocent people throughout Shibusen. When they come to the village where Masamune was last spotted, they are met with hostility from the villagers due to Black Star's heritage from the murderous Star Clan. Masamune later appears, possessing the body of a young boy, and using him to attack Black Star and Tsubaki, but Black Star breaks the boy free from Masamune’s control. At this point, Tsubaki insisted on fighting Masamune alone-him being her older brother who turned to the Path of the Demon, a fact that Black Star was still unaware of.

The two began fighting within Masamune’s mental plane. Although at first her efforts alone were not enough, when Black Star’s words of inspiration managed to reach her within the plane, she found the power to defeat her brother once and for all; Mission Accomplished.

Upon arriving back home, Black Star and Tsubaki are able to enjoy a period of prospering peace, that is, until the ascension of Arachnophobia. Arachnophobia was an organization intending on plunging the world into insanity. Not too soon after their appearance in the Ninja World, Sid receives a new report about the location of one of Arachnophobia's labs, where a magic tool, is being developed to instill madness into people, by a man named Mosquito. While they lay out the plan to destroy it, Black Star follows them and also decides to attack the facility, where he comes face to face with their new bodyguard, Mifune.

Unlike their first fight, this one was quick. Black Star was cocky, and Mifune made quick work of him. Even after using everything he had, he still could not defeat Angela's bodyguard. Mifune claimed that his arrogance was his down fall, while Black Star spouted words of how Mifune was the one acting arrogant, talking down to a "God" as such. An ambush laid out by Sid, and the other Samurai gave Black Star the chance to escape.

Unable to overcome his recent loss, Black Star resumed his training once more, honing his strength, speed and the rest of his abilities to their maximum potential. He feared losing, and would do anything to avoid it. In an angry rage, he left the village once more in search of Mifune, wishing to challenge him to a rematch and defeat the samurai once and for all. Instead, he ran into Mosquito, whom he had only met briefly before. Black Star, underestimating his abilities because of his small stature, decided to defeat Mosquito, and then make his way on towards Mifune. Once again however, Black Star’s efforts proved futile, as Mosquito easily overpowered him. No matter how hard he tried, it didn’t matter; Mosquito brushed off his attacks as nothing more than a minor annoyance. Suddenly, he heard a familiar voice calling out to him; it was Tsubaki who had come to his rescue. Together, their efforts were just enough to momentarily overpower Mosquito, and escape.

Back in Shibusen once more, Black Star's confidence begins to waver due to his recent defeats. His confidence diminishing, he begins fighting nonstop, challenging all of his friends to fights, winning each and every one. Afterwards, he decided to challenge the only person from Shibusen he had ever lost to once again; his former classmate, Kid.

During their fight, Black Star loses control, and is unable to properly utilize his chakra due to his loss of self-confidence. His eyes seemed to take on a new appearance, his pupils took on the shape of a star, and his facial expression conveyed a feeling of insatiable bloodlust. He now walked the same path as his clan, the Path of the Demon. To walk the path of the demon is to strive for power and victory over the strive for earnest will and justice. A person on this path shows a supreme goal of achieving the strongest level of power possible. Unable to cope, Black Star fell to Kid, and he fell hard. The loss sub sequentially woke him up from his stupor, allowing him to realize his mistakes. He was free of the path of the Demon, but he would not walk the path of the Warrior - he would walk his own path, and become a "Warrior God."

During this time a raid on Arachnophobia was being planned to end their operation once and for all. On the night of the raid, the new Black Star emerges, joining up once more with his partner, Tsubaki. Seemingly ok, he charges into the fray, rushing into the castle that was their hide out.

With his athletic ability, he easily make sit past all of the traps set up, but upon arriving at the entrance, is greeted by his rival; Mifune. Mifune declares that this will be the ultimate decisive battle between the two, and that this time; he is full ready to fight against a child. And with that, the bloody battle ensued.

The battle was long and grueling, without a clear winner arising throughout most of the fight, until one final decisive clash would end it, as Black Star managed to fatally strike Mifune.

“Magnificent."

"I’m sorry Angela.”

With those final words, the powerful Samurai died.

The raid on the castle had been successful, leaving Arachnophobia un-operational. Black Star had promised to look after Angela in Mifune’s stead. For the next few days, Black Star would lie in his Hospital bed, pondering on his life, and how he had finally grown up a bit, from the reckless arrogant child he once was. Looking out his bedside window, he would remember Mifune, his rival, his friend.

He's lost confidence in himself, that's why he was unable to properly utilize his chakra. He's paralyzed by doubt. I've seen it before; it doesn't take much to do that to one, doubting yourself will do it every time. I've known Black Star for a long time, since he was an infant. He has great talent. His soul is strong; he's willing to work hard. Against a single opponent or many, it doesn't matter; he'll beat them all one by one. That's what he does, that's who he is, someone who wins.

But lately he's begun to lose fights one after the other. His battle with the samurai Mifune was the most damaging. It was a total defeat. If you think back, it seems that's when his attitude started to change. He can't handle his recent losses. He wasn't built to lose. It's been a major blow to his self-confidence. I can't blame him. Someone with a weaker soul would have given up a long time ago. But that little idiot doesn't even know the meaning of giving up.

We adults are often stuck in the past, children can only think about the future, but Black Star lives in the present, he can't wait for the future. He has to find his path now..

Armory:Black Star makes use of a Kusarigama by far the most in battles, and is normally the first weapon Black Star uses when entering a battle. It offers the most versatile use of moves for attack and defense. His chain scythe takes the form of a long metal chain with each end of the chain tipped with a yellow handle that has a small double-edged and double-pointed scythe blade attached. Three dark grooves appear below each blade. There are yellow dots on the handles, making them appear as if they have 'eyes.' He also makes use of a katana which he keeps on his person at all times, after defeating Masamune. The blade is a stained black color, with the guard having an octagonal shape. The hilt of the blade is wrapped with bandages.
