Personality: Yukio is mostly seen as quiet and calm, yet he is somewhat bi-polar. He is mostly seen happily smiling, but can easily get sidetracked due to Rin's personality clash, and becomes rather dark.
He takes things seriously, but knows a joke when he hears one. On few occasions he is shown to have a very aggressive side. If he is pushed too far, he can gain a fiercely angry personality. His angry side is so intense that it frightens Rin when it makes itself known.

Background Info.
History: Just as the Kyuubi attacked the Hidden Leaf Village, Yukio's mother was giving birth to two boys. Whilst the village was fighting the Nine Tails, Yuri Egin, Yukio's mother was in a secret location guarded by Anbu black ops members to ensure her babies where kept safe and out of harms way from the rampaging nine tails.
Due to the stress of childbirth, she soon passed away, leaving Yukio and His brother Rin without any parents to look after them.
The anbu who guarded Yuri brought the children to a safe place and watched over them until the villagers supressed the nine tails.
The boys where eventually adopted by a man name Shiro, one of the strongest Jonin in the hidden leaf village. He tought Rin and Yukio everything he knew about swords and different techniques but was forced to focus more on Yukio due to him being the weaker of the 2 brothers. Shiro taught him everythin he knew about swords how to use different sword techniques in hope he would become strong enough to defend himself without the help of Rin.
This went on for 15 years, where the boys trained together and lived in peace with Shiro, although Yukio found it hard with Rin getting into so many fights with other kids, leading to Yukio always having to bandage him up.

One day Yukio returned home to find Rin, with sword in hand next to a lifeless Shiro.

It was his father. He had come to take Rin. Shiro stood in and tried to defend Rin with all he had, eventually making his father flee but had over exhausted himself and died in the end. From this day on, Yukio swore to become the strongest ninja in the Hidden Leaf village and surpass his brother so one day, he could eventually become strong enough to become hokage and kill... his own father.
