Remember,when Hashirama told Madara that he should become Hokage,but due to Tobirama's words,Madara gave up hope of becoming Hokage and left the village.,when he could have done something to earn peoples' trust.

Now the same situation is here again,with Naruto and Sasuke.Nobody trust Sasuke,but as Kishimoto is trying to portray him,it's that he is exactly like Naruto,darker side until now.Once he gets on something he just don't stop untill it's done.

So what I think is that in this war he'll earn the trust of the people,mainly in future,and people's anger against him will be down when they'll learn the truth about Itachi.

After the war this will also create a damn good situation for a all out friendly battle against each other for the title of HOKAGE..

And people who are saying that's it's bullshit [well after the spoiler I too was among them but not after the reason he gave in the chapter] should know that Kishi is trying to portray that changes are essential.

No, it makes perfect sense. Unlike Naruto, Sasuke has a real reason to want to become Hokage. Naruto wanted to achieve that title because everyone looked down on him. However, now that everyone hails him as the savior of the village, why should he become Hokage? Because he "wants" to?

Naruto has already been acknowledged by everyone, so there isn't a definitive reason for him to become Hokage. That's why some people have predicted he won't become Hokage; they just don't see the point.

Sasuke, on the other hand, is justified in his reasoning. He believes the previous Hokages have made a mess of things, and has decided that instead of trying to destroy the village, he wants to fix it and guide it into a better future.

i like this actually, i still would like to see naruto as hokage dont get me wrong, but i can see this happening as well, though i think the friendly battle that will decide hokage will be won by naruto since the last battle they had ended up with sasuke getting away, i dont think naruto will allow himself to lose this time.

No matter what he'll do, he can't erase the fact that he's guilty of killing Danzo, attacking the 5 Hokages, practically killing Itachi. I wouldn't trust this kind of person.
It doesn't matter if he was only a confused teen. If my family is killed and I'll go on rampage and it will cost lives of many, should I be forgiven just like that? Should I be trusted again? Well, maybe I could be trusted, but not on the level that would give me a position of Hokage for christ sake.
Hokage hold responsibility for every citizen of the village.
You can't be mentally unstable to do that kind of job.
