How Rinnegan may be acquired

For those who dont know Kishi gets the majority of his influences from Buddhism and other myths. The abilities of the Rinnegan are based on Buddhism's Wheel Of Life (Samsara), there are different stages in the Wheel Of Life that are unique to one another

Few examples:

- The Animal Path is based on the Animal Realm where a human is reborn as an animal after reincarnation. Hence the different animal summonings.
- The Human Path is based on the Realms of the Humans who are on a journey to attain enlightenment. Hence one of this paths ability is to read minds for knowledge and information.
- The Deva Path is based on the God Realm, where they are seen as deities. Hence why Pain referred himself as 'God'. Even though they are deities they can still die.


According to Buddhism if a person wants to continue being reincarnated, one must be near death with a very strong will to live
as it is believed by Buddhists that the last moment of a person's life will determine what will happen to the self. This also means that you are finally aware that you are part of the Samsara.

So with all that taken into consideration, Kishi should explain that the Rinnegan is only acquired when you have the EMS and you are at your last moment of your life (hint Madara).

Of course Kishi wouldnt just follow Buddhism directly as he is bound to add some twists, such as the requirement of the Senju DNA maybe? :shrug:.

And considering Senju DNA, or rather Hashirama's, is noted to grant a powerful life force to its possessor, it is highly likely that Madara acquired it through this method.

Yep we have seen his influences on myths so many times before ( Amaterasu, Susano, Tsukuyomi etc) so I thought it would only be natural for Kishi to link them with his story somehow.

hashirama dna gives you- shitload of chakra, woodrelease...

theres a reason everyone wanted hashiramas chakra.. it was because of his wood release... thats why oro made yamato etc.. everyone wants that kkg...

If madara wanted senju dna he could have gotten it from the HUNDREDS of senju he fought..... he literally killed many already..... He came on the battlefield and said he wanted to try something, he used wood release.. thats obviously what it took it for.... The extra chakra also helps him use rinnegan better, since it drains alot... imo thats about it..

Well for now we all have to go by Tobi giving Nagato his Rinnegan. This thread was mainly aimed at the possibility of how Madara may have acquired the Rinnegan.

Thank you . But yeh we could probably predict the storyline of Naruto based on Buddhism and other mythical stories but of course Kishi is gonna add a few of his own storylines.

Nice points and another thing Kishi uses Shinto mythology too. . . . Perhaps we can find some reference in that.

Like the fact that in Shinto stories, Shinto Storm God Susanoo killed the eight headed snake orochi with a sword is exactly like Itachi using Susanoo and Tokusa blade to seal orochimaru.
