Gajeel is a tall and muscular man with long, spiky black hair, which is usually kept slicked back, revealing his forehead, red eyes with slitted dark pupils, and no visible eyebrows. Most of his exposed body is covered in sets of simple, round studs. The most visible studs are on his face, with three of them right above his eyes (acting as "eyebrows" of a sort), three on each side of his nose, and two on his chin, just below his mouth. His ears are adorned by two sets of five earrings each. He also sports four studs on each of his forearms, with his right one being covered in scars.

Gajeel's usual outfit consists of a shabby, black, sleeveless tunic with studded edges, with a studded belt around his waist, loose whitish pants tucked inside studded black boots, and a pair of studded brown gloves paired with similarly studded wristbands. He also sports a distinctive wing-like ornament, seemingly made of feathers jutting upwards, over his right shoulder, attached to his tunic by a large stud.

Personality:

Gajeel is has a short temper, seen when he and his friend Natsu bicker constantly over childish things. Like Natsu, Gajeel lives for the thrill of combat. Despite saying that he doesn't want to make friends, he tries in his own way to do so. However, he is completely and genuinely dedicated to which ever ninja he is affiliated with. Despite his cold personality, he has shown a humorous side of himself

Not much is known of Gajeel. No one really knows who his parents are or where he was born. He was born in Iwagakure, and is able to use steel release but no one taught him. He claims that a Dragon taught him to use steel jutsu by the name of Metalicana. But, as so few have seen dragons in the ninja world, no one seems to believe him. By the age of 10 he left Iwagakure as he was always getting abused being called a liar and told that dragons don’t exist. He began to travel the world learning new skills.


Having mastered fire and earth before he left the village, Gajeel was able to work on his skills with his steel release developing his own fighting style. In doing so in increased his toughness and physical strength greatly. After leaving the village, he had nowhere to go and so he spend nearly 3 years living in a cave, taking care of himself. After living in the cave for 3 months, he would venture out of the mountains in search of Metalicana, hoping to find his “father” again soon. On his travels his met a few ninja who would them teach him the ninja ways of the basic elements and nin, gen and taijutsu.


All the time he would train, mastering steel release to the extent that he could perform even the hardest techniques with just one handseal, promising that one day, he would show Metalicana and make him proud.

Enhanced Smell: Gajeel has an incredible sense of smell, which he shares with other Dragon Slayers (A group of elemental specialists). He uses this for tracking purposes as apparently, nothing can escape his nose.

Enhanced Durability: Even without his steel abilities, Gajeel has consistently proven himself to be one of the more resilient shinobi in the world.

Enhanced Speed: Gajeel's overall speed and reflexes are impressive, enough for him to intercept attacks like sasuke's speed in the kage summit.

Enhanced Strength: Gajeel has shown on different occasions to be incredibly strong, even without the power of his steel release.:

Master Hand to Hand Combatant: In battle, aside from his steel release, Gajeel is known for extensively employing unarmed combat, and to possess great proficiency in doing so: his style is a brutal one, consisting of powerful, direct moves such as devastating punches and headbutts, complemented by his high physical prowess, with his strength making his blows highly damaging, and his speed allowing him to land them in extremely fast succession.

Elements: Due to his mastery of steel release, Gageel can do all fire jutsu with one handseal and perform earth jutsu handseals alot faster than normal ninja.
