And then a possible trade of their new poster child Tim Tebow as well.
No one could have forseen this. For the Broncos to gain Peyton Manning with a 5 year $95M contract, and then the prospect of either trading Tebow or keeping him as a second string with the drop of Brady Quinn, and having him under the tutelage of Manning for 5 long years would make the Broncos quite formiddable.

No way Tebow was going to be the franchise quarterback for the Broncos. The only reason he became the starter (despite being the 3rd string QB behind Quinn) was because of the fans. Elway was just trying to shut them up but showing how bad Tebow was, but then they kept winning despite Tebow's terrible play and Elway had to "appear" to support him.

But otherwise I agree with you. Tebow was awful. The numerous lucku wins due mostly in part to running TDs. Tebows arm is not ready yet. He still has a long ways to go before I would even consider him Cam Newton level. Best Rookie stats in quite some time.

Na, you can't bench a 3 year starter in favor of a 35 year old free agent coming off multiple neck surgeries and expect him to stay on the team. Even if the expectation was for him to come back in a couple of years down the road you would have just undermined and leadership/authority in the locker room they could ever have. If Manning went to the Jets, Sanchez would have been traded.

I'm not sure Tebow to any Florida teams makes much sense. The Jags are hoping to build around Gabbert, and bringing in an unproven quarterback like Tebow would be essentially the same situation. For Miami its pretty much the same with Matt Moore.

To be honest I think wherever he goes he's going to end up as a back up.

Manning is a bronco. I'm glad he's not a 49er. Give Alex Smith a full training camp under Greg Roman's offense & I believe he'll double his offensive output. He also had more seasons at his disposal.
