Rollerblading vs Skateboarding

Rollerblading? or Skateboarding?
I want to try one on my birthday.

I was amazed on "Air Gear" that's why I wanted to try Rollerblading. I want to feel the wind as I move faster. In other words, I want to try and "fly".

I play fingerboards the reason why I would like to try Skateboarding. I found out that Skateboards can also give me the experience of "flying" but with a board.

Which of the two would you give someone with no experience like me?
I actually want to know which of the two is better at Attracting people, Area of Skating, Safety, History and other stuff like that.

Hope you guys could give me your opinions!

roller blading, don't have to push with you legs and have better balance with blades if you havn't done ethier much
