Minato is actually weaker than a lot of Naruto Characters.

Sure the yellow flash is one of the fastest shinobis in Narutoverse. However, what he really lacks is a powerful move. So far from what we've seen the strongest weapons in his arsenal are his kunai and the rasengan. Meaning he can get behind his opponent in the blink of an eye and stab 'em with his kunai. This might be quite effective against some of the characters in Naruto. However, this puts Minato in a bad spot against the top tier naruto characters such as the kages, akatsuki members like orochimaru, itachi, pain and Madara Uchiha and Even Biiju Naruto. Rasengan, as we have seen, has been countered thousands of times in naruto. There are so many characters that can simply withstand it. For example, orochimaru can easily withstand a kunai attack or a rasengan thanks to his regenerative abilities. Minato can keep chopping him off all day but he will just keep coming out of his shells. Sage Kabuto is another character that will annihilate minato in terms of feats. Minato can rasengan him all day but he will just keep healing himself. Ninjutsu is useless against edo madara so minato will have to take him down with power moves. The problem is minato doesn't have any. Like he doesn't have any moves that will break the susanoo. Strength is a feat he seems to lack as well. Now I have no doubt in Minato's superior intellect and I can guarantee he will find a way to score a direct hit on any opponent. The only problem is that hit may not be enough to finish off some of the top rank shinobies. And that makes minato a weak match against them. Sure minato can defeat kakashi and the jonins of leaf village and even jiraiya(because he died cause of the chakra rod stab wound from pain minato can stab him too even in sage mode) with his speed. But against some characters with high defenses, hes just useless. Its a shame he had to die so early cause I am sure he would of perfected his rasengan and chakra affinity if he lived but the fact remains, Minato does not have a high power ninja move.

You completely skated over the fact that Minato is the absolute best at sealing jutsus in the manga.

Also he has probably the most powerful summons (not counting Edo Tensei ninjas as summons).

Just because he has not shown a finishing move doesn't mean he doesn't have it. Kages are required to know all sorts of things. At least in Konoha, that is what Ebisu said.

Agree with some points. Tbh before he was ranked at 10 in my list, ive thought about my final top10 and imo he isnt in there based on what we have seen. There has been far more powerful ninja's who going by their abilities should replace him, mu, sm kabuto, 2nd mizukage are all above him from what we have seen

I think that he is a good match-up for Mu though, but I guess Mu might be able to take out more people than Minato could.

Minato is not considered strong because of flashy (no pun intended) techniques, but because of his skill and intellect. He instead defeats his opponent with strategy and the FTG, and luckily, most people he faces are not immune to having their throat slit He doesn't go flying around destroying buildings and smashing rocks, but it only took him a few panels to make A and Kirabi his b!tches. He's also, to date, the only person to really hurt Tobi without dying or taking damage at that.

Of course, Minato has a great defense against large scale attacks due to his skill with Space Time barriers and such. He also has sealing jutsu. It just goes to show...big explosions and surreal jutsu are not always necessary to be dangerous.

I agree except for the hiruzen bit, its pretty obvious that minato> hiruzen. The manga is pretty much trying to say that hiruzen and the village would been destroyed if it was not for minato on the kyuubi attack night. Hiruzen has not shown any power moves save the reaper death seal and thats minato's move. Altho maybe prime hiruzen did have some awesome jutsus

pretty good points. His defense in indeed remarkable. but still how would be beat someone with susanoo and powerful recuperating abilities?
