Possibly he managed to defeat Killerbree, with help of Karin and the others, but Pein also had help, and pein struggled to beat naruto alone (still is) pein is defo no match for Kyubi, sasuke has gr8 chakra capacity but not as good as pein, so i recken not yet, but he defo has potenial

But we haven't seen Sasuke for a while though so atm it's pretty much impossible to make any conclusions of his power. For all we know he could've mastered the Mangekyou.

This thread should be in the Naruto discussion not the manga thread, but anyway. I am a big fan of both Sasuke and Pain, but I really think that Pain would own Sasuke with just god realm. I'm sure Kishi would agree, and this is comming from someone who has the heavenly curse mark that sasuke had from orochimaru tattooed on the same spot as he got it in the manga.

Pain destroyed Konoha single-handedly. Naruto is incredibly powerful himself. Sasuke's only advantage in Pain's situation that Pain wouldn't have had would be the ability to control the fox.

Sasuke might stand a chance against Pain if he knew Pain's secret, but without that knowledge...even less of a chance.

Didnt Sasuke have near-to-death moments in almost all his fights so far? He barely defeated Deidera and he almost died against Killerbee... I don't think Pain would have such troubles with them... and I doubt Sasuke would be a match since even Itachi together with Kisame didn't attack Jiraya yet Pain killed him. But meh this'll lead to another discussion :D

He didn't barely defeat Deidara. He owned him. Deidara was in genjutsu for like the whole fight. He nearly died against Killer Bee because he barely knew how to use Mangekyou. But I still think that Pein is stronger. Just not for the reasons that you posted.

I would say no. Pein's eyes are almost the perfect counter to the sharingan if you think about it. Genjutsu is usless as there are 6 bodies (7 counting Nagato). Yes he can predict movements but the six bodies render it useless as they can attack from all direction. Most of Sasuke's moves (Kirin etc) could be absorbed by the fat Pein. The onl way I think Sasuke could win is if Amatsamaru worked. I'm not sure if fat Pein could absorb that too or blow it away with his force push thing.

i agree about pein being able to defeat sasuke, but i would have to kindly disagree with your logic.. because even if sasuke was capable of defeating pein, it would not mean he'd be able to defeat jiraiya.. who knows how jiraiya's style and jutsu's would fair against sasuke..

I don't think Sasuke can beat Naruto by himself anymore. He has great techniques but I think that after dealing with Pein he will be able to finally control the Nine-tails. I think he will tell the NT that he better get on board with his program or he will bring his dad back and stomp him some more. I also think that NT is ascared of the Uchihas and may throw his lot in with Naruto.

If you noticed, Naruto was controling Boss Frog when he came back from Frogland. He has great control of Sage Mode and has extended his rasengan shuriken. He has Sage Mode in reserve with his Shadow Clones. Naruto is way more formidable. He could take other Akatiski members by himself, similiar to Jiraya. He just needs more seasoning.

Sasuke took Orochimaro out while he was weakened. Itachi wanted to die, because he was eventually going to die, and he wanted to stop Madara in his mad plan. Itachi needed to strengthen Sasuke and he lost on purpose. Itachi may have been the strongest Ataski (other than maybe Sansori), and he wasn't a match for Madara.

Thinking that Sasuke is the baddest ass around is way too premature. He nearly died 2 times while fighting killer bee.
