i actually have to agree with twisted for once. without ANY knowledge of pain before fighting him, the chances of beating him are almost zero. like i said, the two beings in the naruto universe that could fight pain one on one and win WITHOUT prior knowledge are minato and possibly kyuubi. but even they would have a hell of a fight and wouldn't walk away from the fight unharmed.

naruto was pwning pain in the beginning sure, but it's because pain didn't have the god realm to start with. when god realm's powers came back, face it, naruto got WTFPWND, even with all the information jiraiya produced for him.

the only pain i believe he would beat is petra/robot pain and taijutsu pain perhaps if he didnt take his soul all other pains are to powerfull with there style mainly god realm u can block of sasuke's fire/lighning jutsu , taijutsu and genjutsu woudnt affect all pains because his not stupid enoth to go fight a uchiha and let all his bodys be visible.
last kirin is powerfull but gravity is better.

Madara is not in need of a chance. It is a fact that he is stronger than Pain.

2nd sasuke wouldnt have defeated deadara without orochimaru's powers that he absorbed and the curse seal.lol so if he he didint have these 2 powers he wouldnt have defeated deadra lol and that means he cant defeat pien even with itachi's powers or itachi would have done that himself and saved konaho.

when naruto had 8 tails he only broke out from chibaku tensi wich would have been easy if he was in sage mode (he didint have a choice the kyubi took over)

ow and he was able to withstand shinra tensi at the end and killed the main pien's body without the kyubi's power and he was able to resist nagato chackra controller from a short distance .

1.Sage mode specifically deals with stamina issues by regenerating chakra at an extremely large rate, this is why naruto looks absolutely exhausted when his sage mode runs out, and then looks absolutely hyperactive ones he activates it again.

Yes it does require your own chakra balancing with natural chakra too, but the whole point of sage mode is to be able to fight your enemy without getting tired.
Better regeneration, less tiredness, more strength etc etc

2.The training on the mountain actually covered a very long time-span, a few manga chapters i believe covered many weeks, maybe month or so.

Well, the battle between the two would be a very good battle no doubt, but to answer your question no Pain is stronger.

The only way Sauske would even stand a chance against Pain is if Sauske knew all of Pain's powers prior to the battle and even then the battle would still probably go to Pain.

(this part contains spoilers!)

The reason is because nothing would be holding Pain back, when Pain fought Naruto Pain had the battle won the moment Hinata had to intervene. Plus we can forget the real Pain gave up and never actually fought Naruto so if Pain fought Sauske he'd be fighting to kill and Sauske would not win. (and thats even if you consider Sauske and Naruto even as of 466 which I still think Naruto would currently beat Sauske)
