Deeper meaning of the war fights! :)
Do you notice that each fight in the war is a grudge match?
You have:
- Senju vs Uchiha (Curse of hatred)
- Dr Snakes vs Kabutomaru
So what's the purpose of Tobi vs Naruto? Well remember back to after Sasuke vs Itachi, when Kakashi looked into Tobi's sharingan. At the time, it was mostly Konoha 11 vs Tobi.
The whole point of Konoha 11 rushing to Naruto's fight is to finish that fight they had started.
So Naruto vs Tobi is a Konoha fight.... I dunno if this helps with Tobi's identity, but I think Kishi is trying to tell us that Tobi's identity is tied very closely to Konoha. Possibly the young generation of Konoha vs the older generation

Sage VS Sage? Son VS Son? I know Kishi, and he love to make ''fate''-fights. So yeah

Naruto VS Tobi is about which one has the best Image/Idea of how PEACE can be achieved, this fight is the most meaningful fight of all the Madara VS 5 Kage and the Uchiha brothers fight... IMO

tobi just seeks world domination ... by any means necessary and he knows that war and division are perfect tools that will create his dream
