Any experts?
**Please no more comments saying I should get photoshop, I posted this thread to ask the GIMP users for advice because that is what I have. I am aware that photoshop is better, but I don't have it! **
Hey guys! I'm wondering if there are any self proclaimed GIMP experts (anyone with a lot of experience) who wouldn't mind taking a look at my work and communicating with me on here on how they think I can improve. I'm new to GIMP and don't really know any of the tricks to it yet. I've watched some tutorials but they weren't much help.
Really if you have any favorite tricks or effects that you like to use in your own work that you wouldn't mind sharing with me and maybe showing me an example I'd really appreciate it!
Also any links to good brushes would be awesome! =)

Re: Any experts?
mm i saw on your sigs that you have way too much blur on renders.Try bluring the edges of the render to make it look attached to background and use burn/dodge to light up and darken parts for some light effect(the sigs under are made with gimp and i think they are pretty good to be in spar with the photoshop ones of the same level,so anyone that says gimp is not as good as photoshop...well it really depends on the skill)

Re: Any experts?
They're alright. You should get photoshop like Avicii said.

Re: Any experts?
My only advice i can give you is not too blur the backgrounds too much or the renders as this will really ruin your overall work, also they are too messy you got too much stuff, it also looks as if you create the bkg first, you should pick a spot, place your render there and start off from there, google stocks, c4d renders, fractal renders, and save them in a folder for when you need one you will have a wide variety from where to choose from, one other thing would be to get hq renders and like white flash said use the burn/dodge tool to create light effect, you can also go to deviantart.com and search for photoshop brushes. once you save them extract them and put the .abr/.gbr files in computer>program86xfiles>gimp>share>library>brushe s
