1.) Start with my template.
Open this in Photoshop or Pixlr.
1.5) Copy the silver lining of the empty banner onto a new project, not layer or create a new project with; The dimensions of 150x30 wxh. If you copied it to the new project and it's not 150x30, go back and copy it again because you cut some of it off. When done, Turn this into a layer name it "Lining"
*One project has the template, your new project now is 150x30 and has the empty silver lining which you should of just turned into a layer. (Unlocked the background if it wasn't already)
2.) NEW LAYER 1: Go into google or whatever and find a background for the banner. When you cut a piece of the background to fit in the silver lining remember that dimensions to fit inside silver lining must be 146x26 (wxh). Place it inside the silver lining and it should fit. If for some reason it doesn't adjust as necessary.
3.) NEW LAYER 2: Find symbol for banner and cut it/place it on newly backgrounded banner (If using any, if not skip to step 4!) Typically symbols should be 26 pixels high.
4.) NEW LAYER 3: Write requested text. Matching font in admin/moderator style is Noto Serif. I usually use size 19. If not, adjust text and font to whatever they requested of course.
4.5) Optional: Go into layer styles and add an minimal inner glow of dark gray. This will make the words appear slightly beveled outwards when you darken in step 7.
5.) Merge layers 1, 2, and 3 DO NOT MERGE WITH SILVER LINING LAYER!!
Name it something so you can tell it apart from the "Lining" layer.
Note: You now should have a combined layer of text, symbol, background and the "Lining" layer.
6.) Select lower area of the combined layer with a selection tool. Around 40% on both sides of the "Lining" layer should be pre-darkened already, select the lower 40% over the now merged layer using the darkened Lining as a guide.
7.) Darken by about 10-15% and zoom out to 100% to view your image. It should have a glossed over look and the darkened part should match the "Lining" layer's darkened sides of the frame.
8.) If satisfied, flatten the image and save. Copy it to the template project and place in the banner section using the unfinished banner as a guide.
1.) Make the avatar however you do yours but;
The adjusted avatar size for placing a picture on my banner template is 150x158 (wxh)
It should rest just short of the silver line in the white space separating the banner and the avatar.
2.) Flatten image again and upload to wherever.
