I do feel more and more sorry for Kabuto, and we're probably beginning to understand the choices he made. I don't think he should've joined Orochimaru, but who am I to judge. It's not like he had a super attractive alternative.

This just goes to show how corrupt Konoha can be - especially Root. I never liked them, they always rubbed me the wrong way, and it's just getting worse and worse. Hopefully Root can change now that Danzou's dead, when the 4th war is over...

Great chapter nonetheless - ballsy as hell of Kabuto to attack Orochimaru! The boy's got guts.

When I saw Kabuto own Oro I was like wow, and everyone said his was Oro's b!tch. Very Very interesting chapter, I really liked it. I lol'd so hard at Oro in the big meat grinder thing that makes DNA.

One thing I noticed was when it flashed through all the people that he took DNA from Sasuke, Kimimaro and the sound 4 were there. Does that mean Kabuto is ganna whip out some bones whilst activating a sharingan? That would be a total mind f@ck to Sasuke and Itachi. I can see it now.

Incredible chapter. I'm glad so many of you are finally coming around to liking the flashbacks, I personally have thought that they were great from the start, I always love learning more about a charater's background, especially one as interesting as Kabuto. I'm also excited now for the next chapter! I hope Kabuto doesn't get taken care of to quickly or easily. That would ruin this whole segment for me.

Enjoyed this week's. Gave it 4*.
Like most people who worked for/with Oro., they didn't really have a choice, I feel sorry for Kabuto. Kishi has introduced this story for a reason, now I'm not sure if Kabuto will be killed, but maybe turn good in typical Naruto style?
Interesting to see that Danzou was involved in ruining Kabuto's life too...glad that creep's dead.

Kabuto is too important at this point to not have a backstory. And these flashbacks actually explain a lot. A good break from Madara's Hashirama fanclub, and whatever.
But I think this was the end of it. Next chapter things will speed up, I think.

Who else thinks that Danzo is a real bastard? I know he's doing all that for the village, but manipulating people like that is too much.

Start to care for the plot in its entirety, and don't just long for action and battles.

I never really cared for Kabuto before he showed up with his army of immortals. Even then he was nothing but a cool, cocky villain/cheep Orochimaru copy with some tricky plan. But the recent chapters really made me 'care' for his character. Furthermore his background feels 'right', in place, it totally fits to what we knew about him up to this point: that desire to know who he really is, to create a perfect self, is something that was always present, not something that Kishi just invented to make him look kind of interesting.

Congratulations, Kishi. One of your most felicitous flashbacks. Even those who don't like those kinds of chapters should've found something interesting, since Orochimaru's hideouts and experiments are always somewhat fascinating in my oppinion.

This flashback was enlighten but short. It started with the way Kabuto met Orochimaru and ended with how Kabuto implanted Orochimarus DNA. I'm glad Kishimoto has shown us the story and backround of a main villain who was already at the beginning of the manga a part of the story. Earlier Kabuto was for me nothing but Orochimarus office boy..

Well said. I was annoyed during the first two but this chapter makes me happy we saw his history. Just so frustrating b/c of the damn timing... That was a good end to it. I hope he doesn't drag it out another week. Would be pushing it. I wanna see Izanami and Sasuke's/Itachi's conversation now.
