I Understand the Izanami
Edit: Thanks everyone - made my day ^_^
Basically it works by trapping the foe in an infinite loop
If the foe decided the wrong path, he starts the loop all over again at the beginning
Itachi is basically forcing Kabuto to release the edo tensei. That is the destiny Itachi set for Kabuto - he must choose to accept it
Notice Itachi says 'you are the one who will decide it', he is literally saying to Kabuto ''accept releasing the edo tensei as your destiny and end the loop''

Oh yeh I see it. The thing I don't understand though, if Kabuto decides not to end Edo Tensei wouldn't they both be trapped inside izanami forever or until Itachi ends it?

no, once he stops the edo tensei, he would have met his fate which Itachi set for him
thus ending the loop

Re: I Understand the Izanami
Thats actually a good thoery and it makes sense because the scenes gets rewind and itachi said although he has kabuto's destiny in his hands, its up to kabuto to decide it therefore depending on what kabuto does when the scenes get rewind, he will decide his own destiny.
Tbh im about to re read it and fully digest what is happening

Re: I Understand the Izanami
yeah you're probably right. it's much more powerful than izanagi, that's a ridiculous power. Kabuto's real body is open to attack at any time druing that loop.

yes, but even if Kabuto's attacked, the loop will restart
kabuto must fulfill his destiny and end the edo tensei to be free of the loop

the last page has me thinking that only kabuto is inside the loop? Kabuto is standing still, Itachi and Sasuke aren't inside Izanami though so they can attack Kabuto while he's 'fighting' inside the loop...

This is a great theory...so I now probably understand the Izanami as well...damn I was just about to make a thread wailing how boring Izanami is

Re: I Understand the Izanami
i agree.
its actually a total waste of chapter. kishi don't need to repeat the scenario over and over again. he could have explained it in one line. any programmer here?
its kinda like a loop statement, once kabuto did what itachi wants, the genjutsu will be over.

no. kabuto has realised it is futile to keep attacking
he must release the edo tensei to end the loop
he must accept his destiny itachi has set for him

Re: I Understand the Izanami
So to the guy who explained Izanami very well to us, just want you or someone to clarify so I understand it fully
Itachi has decided Kabuto destiny with Izanami which is to end the Edo Technique and until Kabuto does this, he will forever be in the de javu moment?
