if gray color means dead or supposed to be dead, i guess its time for kakashi to go, he already did alot of stuff epecially for konoha and for naruto. plus he was in naruto (tv & shippuden) since the beginning anyway. he is already popular and paid alot, hehehe

yes it does, kakuzu, hidan, sasori, itachi, oro, deidara and jiraya are dead and have a gray shade, kakashi too...

Long time troller, first time poster...

Just wanted to give some hope to those that want to "not believe" that kakashi is dead...

not everyone that is "grayed out" on that picture is dead...

Hidan is very much alive.

blown to pieces at the bottom of a big hole, but alive.

but check the picture again guys

the 3rd hokage isnt grayed out, bottom left above killer bee, thats definitely his little goatee beard

I see these possibilities

1.The artists kinda forgot-it has been years.
2.They purposefully showed the 3rd hokage as not dead because maybe the death god jutsu doesn't kill you, meaning its hinting minato, the 4th hokage may still be alive.
3.Kakashi is dead.

I dont get the whole "kakashi still has to develop more sharingan techniques and catch up with sasuke"

well...Not really, he doesnt have to do anything, life isnt perfect and sometimes people die before they get to see others progress or progress themself.

Itd be a very unrealistic manga to have everyone die in the places where theyre most happy, in fact it would make predicting deaths pretty much obvious if that was a pre-requisite.

Also orochimaru isnt dead.

Itachi SEALED him, into an eternal genjutsu, that is not death, and also a white snake was seen after that battle.

Hidan cant die-he is alive underground

u got some points there, it was a mistake OR it was like your saying, minato didnt ''died'' (yes, he did but he appeared on anrutos mind) so maybe the 3rd Hokage will appear now in the end.. idk

Sasuke and Gaara have died before in the manga, but unlike those two... to date no one has said flat out that Kakashi is dead yet. Jiraiya was obviously dead (as was Gaara).

Also, Naruto's father never mentions Kakashi as one of the dead even though Kakashi is his direct pupil.

How many times have we been surprised that a person is not dead? Kishi is unpredictable. Kakashi is dead after we see his burial ceremony. Otherwise, it could go either way.

Anyways, manga 443 shows Naruto talking to Inoichi about his feelings toward pain and what he did to his master (I belief he was referring to Pervy sage). Why didn't he say "masters" (in plural)? Although he mentioned the village and everyone in it, I would think he would refer to his Kakashi sensei more specifically if he was dead. That is just a guess.

I'm wondering whether this is a diversion made by Kishi?

Obviously this black and white picture is not older than two months since that is when the chapter was released with the pro- and antagonist on one coverpage.

So it obviously can't be older than this chapter release: Feb 14, 2009

So deducting, by the time this picture was made, all the other people were already dead: Jiraya Itachi, Hidan etc. All had already died, except for Kakashi, he was the figure everyone was wondering about... Taking this into consideration, the picture can be a trick as much as something to interpret.
