Madara Uchiha is a Legendary figure , Edo Tensei wont stop him = He knows a way how too revive himself = it's sayed those who wield the Rinnegan are able too perform Godlike feats and releasing oneself from Edo Tensei = a simple feat releasing oneself from this Jutsu and revive oneself is nothing compared to the Rinnegan abilities.

Kabuto is literally one of the only ones it would have worked on, Itachi recognized this because he saw himself in good old Kabuto, and since he was already dead, it didn’t really matter whether he lost an eye or not. He also had Sasuke as backup.

Anyway, I shouldn’t have to say that this is absolute useless against people like Minato and Jiraiya. This is also forgetting about the hitting the opponent twice, chakra requirements, and the loss of some of the strongest MS techniques.

Since a few of us have said this (bold), I thought I'd clarify that it seems like Itachi pulled a "Kakashi" and copied the move Kabuto was just about to use. (Although I guess who could have already known the move as well, but I think the way Kishi drew it as well as Kabuto's reaction point towards copying)

This jutsu requires the user and ally, not sure if can be made alone just by the user.
This jutsu teaches manners and seems to be worthless to those who already got their manners. ^^

It's only weakness is that the opponet might get free, but, with the right usage, he will most likely become an ally by that time... Also, during the time the opponet is traped in the Izanami, he/she is completely vulterable, and can die anytime... Itachi is basically doing a favor to Kabuto, helping him remember his true self...

Like I said another contradiction on Kishi's long list of them.

we need to understand that it wasn't kishi who told that izanagi requires senju dna, it was tobi who told so....so, it is like itachi contradicts tobi rather than kishi contradicts himself.... yes kishi is making them do so and that is why he is the author (the best person for the job)

I wouldn't say absolutely useless. The victim that is caught has their real body stationary outside of Izanami and is susceptible to attacks and unlike Izanagi, it doesn't last for just a couple of minutes.

actually No one knows his true self : which is the condition for ' Izanami's effect' to work.

but actually as a normal jutsu that is an infinite loop it's active against anybody , until he understands the condition by which he escapes the loop.
so the point yr trying to say : if anyone knows his trueself and acknowledge it he'll escape the loop, which is true : but two questions are asked then :

1- Will he figure out that the way of escaping the loop is this or not ?

2- can he resist the Madness inside the loop, i mean kabuto has a risk of going mad inside the loop, everything is repeating it self etc...

so Admit it itachi haters :

Izanami can be used as a jutsu in combat and it can be escaped only if the 2 questions above are answered
