Apparently the Quincy don't "seal" Bankais. They steal
them... It looks like the Captains are gonna be fighting against their own Bankais.
Everything I'm about to say is based on the assumption that the Quincy don't somehow gain full knowledge of the Bankai they steal.
Let's sit back and think about this for a minute. Obviously it's not a good thing for these Quincy to steal away the Captains' most powerful weapons, but how much of a handicap is it really?
It's been said over and over again that just attaining your Bankai means little to nothing. You need years and years and YEARS
of training to be able to completely harness and master it. The only exception was Ichigo because his Bankai is unlike anyone else's. It wasn't some huge mechanism that took time to learn how to use - it was just a high speed boost. Every other Bankai that we've seen so far has been something on the grand scale - giant axes (Ikkaku), enormous snake/chain-like weapon (Renji), billions of tiny blades (Byakuya), etc.
So what do these Quincy plan on doing with this brand new skill that they've, literally, picked up?
- Do they even know what it is that they stole? No.
- Do they know how to use it? No.
- Do they know the limits of the Bankai? No.
It doesn't stop there. Bankais are, somewhat, extensions of the Shikai. That said, even before reaching Bankai the Shinigami already has a knack for their zanpaktou's fighting style which makes learning to use their Bankai that much easier (even though it takes up to 10ish years, or so they say). These Quincy are completely unprepared to wield such weapons. In essence, if they decide to use these Bankai against the Captains then they're, for all intents and purposes, fighting blind.
Let's look at an easy example - Byakuya's Senbonzakura Kageyoshi.
Byakuya explained to us all that controlling such number of rapidly moving blades is virtually impossible unless you define a "no damage zone". If Tsukishima was able to exploit this and almost
defeat Byakuya, then what do you think Byakuya himself
is going to be able to do against someone who has never used Senbonzakura before?
Long story short, there are pros and cons (in other words, vulnerabilities) for all Bankais because there must be a reason that it takes so long to master to the point of being able to use it in combat.
These are Shinigami who have been Captains for as long as 100 years, some even staggeringly longer. When you're this experienced you know your weapon inside and out just as if it were an extension of your own body. You can count on the fact that over the years they've learned their Bankai's vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
Also, there are ways around this that I can already theorize. You all saw that pendant, right? The one they seemed to use to steal the Bankai. Let's say, oh I don't know, the Captains aim for that thing and destroy it. Might it release the Bankai back into their control?
Another is Soul Society's powerhouse. I forgot about this, but Kenpachi would make the perfect opponent for any of these Quincy. You can't steal a Bankai if they don't have it
Hmm, turned out longer than I expected but oh well lol.
