Why do people hardly use substitutions now?
When substitutions were first used, I personally thought that they were a great strategic jutsu. I remember seeing Kakashi use this during some of the first chapters of Naruto and it became something that people would use to avoid getting hit and allow an opening against an enemy. So my question and the question up for debate i have is, why doesn't anyone use substitution jutsu any more? Wouldn't it be so beneficial to use it and escape a large telegraphed attack from an opponent?

It is a waste of Jutsu when you can use it against someone strong enough to notice it is a Substitute.

Re: Why do people hardly use substitutions now?
The way that substitution works is that you substitute once you're hit. Everyone is going to notice the substitution. It's not like a clone, it's only used once you've been hit, so no one would know you're going to use a substitution.

You won't have time to use it against a high level opponent, and in the current story, just about everyone is. It's the same reason you don't see people using transformation jutsu hardly anymore.

Re: Why do people hardly use substitutions now?
everybody, is too advanced. at this point it's a waste of chakra, unless it's part of a greater strategy. We may see it fool someone overpowered, but it seems making a clone is better use.

Ok, not using transformation jutsu against a high level opponent is not true. Think about the naruto v pain fight. He threw himself at pain and trasnformed himself into a rasen-shuriken so pain wouldn't notice the real attack coming at him.

If everyone spammed it like the old naruto fighter games of course it wouldn't be fun. But it uses chakra and has a limit. Instead we just like to watch people bash on each other and then just get up.

Its kishi he has forgotten the basics and went to stupid power levels. Some of academy techniques that ninja's have to learn to gradate from the academy are highly underrated and can be very successful in tight situations.
Killerbee using the substitute technique to fool sasuke should show you how convenient the technique can be

The reason Killer B's substitute worked was because he sacraficed one of the eight tails from the eight tails.
Its not like he can use any old item and make someone think that it is them.
He had to use a rather large piece of him with his own chakra to make that work. So it wouldn't work in any situation.

Re: Why do people hardly use substitutions now?
Well.... they still use Substitutions.... in Naruto UNSG lol, I bet people in NUNSG have substituted more in the game than the characters in the manga or anime lol

Re: Why do people hardly use substitutions now?
This uses alot chakra to just dodge an attack.
Orocihmaru for example developed a special version of the tech that is very hard to notcie as mentioned by itachi.
Simular idea to hasihrama's wood clones.
From what I understand the tech requires a noticable amount of chakra and its only a last resort once ur actually hit.
At this stage of the series u dont want to be hit by the powerful jutsu we see now days they are too ridiclous in terms of damage.
For example ur not goona use it when ur hit with wind rasnegan ur aim to aviod the tech entirely for example. And if u use the tech to aviod a powerful tech you use alot chakra.
Sasuke used orocihmaru's version of substutuin and basiclly forced to him to all out on his next attack on itachi, using kirin.
Bee also sacrficed alot of the 8 tails's tails to aviod the black flames. Which isnt something u can spam even for the 8 tails as u need to wait for the tails to grow back.

Because Kishi no longer cares for strategies. Its all about speed, explosions, and god-like dojutsu powers, like giant ethereal beings and giant chakra animals making things go boom. **** Taijutsu, Kishi only cares for dojutsu, genjutsu, and explosions

It will be used , when the startegy or something presents itself.
It's very good Jutsu actualy.
Most likely in top 10 Jutsus if you ask me.
