Roy Mustang is the very picture of an attractive, sophisticated man in the prime of life. With his dark, piercing eyes and clean-shaven, baby-faced visage, the infamous colonel attracts a great deal of attention from admirers. Roy's dark hair - perhaps in keeping with his persona - is worn casually unkempt, falling over his eyes; in more formal or somber situations, however, he is known to wear it neatly slicked back.

Personality:

On the surface, Roy seems to be a shallow and self-absorbed man, infamous among many of his colleagues and subordinates alike for the selfish and narcissistic aura he gives off. He comes off to most as a sort of cocky layabout, shirking most of his duties and delegating his paperwork to subordinates while sitting idly at his desk with an amused smile on his face as he procrastinates, but quick to take action when it appears that there is glory and military notoriety to be gained. Roy is expertly manipulative and prone to think several steps ahead of those around him, giving him a remarkable talent for making subordinates act exactly as he wishes despite appearing not to have had a hand in their decisions - all traits which make the fact that he has managed to attain the lofty rank of anbu leader at such a young age a matter of public gossip.

Roy also has the reputation of being an incorrigible womanizer, and it's said he spends much of his time cavorting about town with various women and wooing several of the kunoichi with his abundant charm, good looks and charisma. This adds another facet to his unpopularity among the enlisted men, many of whom have had their sweethearts and crushes romanced away from them by his hand.

However, while these traits do have a place in his real personality, much of his outward persona can perhaps be considered an intentional façade perfectly designed to cause those unfamiliar with him to underestimate his remarkable intelligence and ability. Mustang is an exceptional tactician, well-versed in various strains of combat theory and particularly talented in the realms of surreptitious information-gathering, covert operations and enemy ensnarement.

Abilities:

Kiyoshi

Kiyoshi ability deals with powerful strikes and giving attacks a more explosive and pulsive effect as well as using energy. The secret to the Kiyoshi Clan’s abilities lies in utilizing chakra at its purest and most natural (and semi-tangible) form. This ranges from shooting pulses of energy to using chakra to expand the range of weapons to surging one’s chakra into another’s body through contact. Members of the Kiyoshi Clan focus much of their effort in acquiring the ability to focus in on and sense Energy so that they can gather the Energy from the environment and utilize it. As such, the members that are more adept at feeling Energy can locate the specific Energy sources of living entities (trees, animals, and most human beings) and non-living objects alike since all things of the world, in Kiyoshi Philosophy, give off some sort of energy of their own, be it spiritual, physical, or natural (physical energy is extremely difficult to sense because of its lack of metaphysical properties). The Kiyoshi Clan’s fighting style is a mix of Tai Chi (to control calm movement of energy, best utilized by Kiyoshi Masters), Hung Ga (to control stable and powerful movement of energy), and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu (for close combat). The Kiyoshi Clan’s energy is based to be sent out in pulses. When in combat, they can utilize the energy, which causes their hands and/or feet to glow whatever color coincides with their personality and ability [green, blue, red, white, ect. (Distinct colors only occur in Kiyoshi Generals and higher)] and when they direct an attack, right before contact an invisible/visible “pulse” of chakra is sent out of their fists/feet to make an explosive effect when a clan member delivers a punch or kick that can send the opponent back many feet. Movement also plays a big role in the use of pure chakra/energy. The larger/bigger the motion during movement made to utilize energy, the more energy will be produced. Masters of the Kiyoshi art are signified by a significant glow in their eyes when utilizing the energy, and they can use it much more effectively than normal members. The ability is called Konki Myaku (Energy Pulse). (The reason why those with Kekei Genkai cannot utilize the ability is because their chakra is different from regular chakra and their bloodline effects their chakra in a way that it is configured to work a certain way, thus their chakra can never be “pure”. People with Tailed Beasts can learn to purify their chakra, but it would be nearly impossible due to their bijuu’s influence on their chakra.)

Wind

Due to his training in the Wind element by Drizzy, Roy had managed to completely master the element and make it his speciality allowing him to perform all wind techniques with one hand seal and he can perform those which don't need hand seals with ease and at fast speeds.

Background Info.
History:

The Perfect Life.

Roy Mustang Kiyoshi was born on the in a small cottage in a forest - several miles off of Kumogakure- where his parents and siblings had lived for several years. Despite living in such closed off area with nothing around for several miles, Roy and his family were content with what they had, using the animals in the woods as a source of food, the infinite amount wood for fire, the nearby lakes to wash their clothes and themselves, they had no need for things such as money. Life was almost perfect to someone who had known nothing about the things occurring outside of those woods, however things were about to change.

Less than a month after Roys 7th birthday, Sunagakure were on their way to launch a sneak attack on the village of Kumogakure, on their way they found the little cottage where Roy and his family had lived, assuming it was somehow connected to Kumogakure, it was decided that one of the Suna nin would attack it himself and kill everyone inside, however due to living in the cottage for so long, Roys father had make sure to set out some basic traps in order to protect himself and his family. After hearing one of the traps go off, Roys father quickly gathered up his family whilst inside the cottage and sent them through an underground tunnel whilst he would be a distraction to the ninjas and hold them off until his family escaped. However little did he know that the Suna nin had already found out about the secret pathway and had another ninja waiting at the end of it..

As Roys father was fighting to allow his family time to escape, he was easily overpowered by the ninja as he had no special training of any kind nor was he a ninja. As he received the fatal blow which would later kill him, he smiles knowing he had given his family enough time to escape. As his family come out of the exit of the secret pathway, a suna nin stands right in front of them, with a grin upon his face, one glance of this ninjas face told Roy that he and his family had no chance of survival. Without a seconds thoughts the suna nin sliced through Roys mother with a single Kunai before, side stepping towards Roy and his siblings, seeing him coming Roy quickly stepped to the side just avoiding the kunai as it scraped his chin, just missing his throat, unfortunately, due to their slow reaction, Roys siblings had been cut open and were both bleeding to death. After seeing his mother and siblings killed, Roy froze, the shock was too much for him, the only thing keeping him from collapsing was knowing that he’d be killed instantly. Before he could think about anything else, the suna nin launched himself towards Roy once again at such a speed that Roy couldn’t even see him coming, this was it, his short life had come to an end, with this thought in mind Roy collapsed.

A new start.

Roy opens his eyes, trying to remember the last thing that had happened, was he killed? Was this heaven? With these questions going through his mind he attempts to look around but fails as his eyes struggle to get accustomed to the brightness of the room he was in. A few seconds later he finally manages to see, he found himself in a closed room with nobody around and 3 other empty beds. Everything in the room was white, it seemed as if he was imagining this, as he looks around, he notices a small window on the other side of the room, without a seconds thought Roy runs over to it and notices the room he was in was surrounded by clouds, completely baffled by this he decides to take a seat and think things through, before he gets far into his thoughts a tall man who smelt of blood walks in, without saying a word this man stepped closer and closer to Roy before stopping directly in front of him, staring down at Roy with fearsome eyes of a devil. Completely scared by this Roy keeps silent, despite having thousands of questions he’d like to ask, after a couple of seconds of staring at each other the man decides to sit down and explain how he had saved Roy from the suna ninja and took him back to the hospital in Kumogakure. Although happy, Roy realized that his whole family had been murdered, he had nowhere to go, he looked up to the man and asked him if he could temporarily stay in Kumo, the man happily agreed. During his stay in Kumogakure, Roy met a lot of friends such as Harrek (Kerrah..), Scaze and Baldy. These 3 had been his close friends and so he’d always compete with them so that he doesn’t lag behind and become weak and a hindrance to them should they go on a mission together.

Growth

It had been several years, Roy had trained within the walls of Kumogakure, learning everything he could in order to become a strong enough ninja who would be able to get revenge for the death of his family. As he gained enough strength and had learned everything he possibly could in Kumo, Roy wanted to go on a trip, to see what he had been missing during his life within the woods and during his stay in Kumo. After putting it off for several weeks, one night he finally decided to pack up his stuff and set off. He grabbed a map, kunais, clothes, money and food which be enough for him for several days.

Roy left his little house within Kumogakure, upon reaching the gate he looked back towards the village and bowed as a means to say thank you to everyone within those walls who helped him improve and to those who showed him life was worth living. As he set off, only within hours he ran into bandits, there were 3 of them, 2 looked considerably weak with the third looking mysteriously stronger than his comrades. Without wasting time these bandits ran towards Roy aiming to take him down, due to his training in Kumo he killed them both within a blink of the eye. With this done the third man smiled as he took off his robe. His opened his mouth for a second and said ‘’They call me Coyote’’ before running in towards Roy, Roy attempted to take him down the same way he took down the bandits, after failing to do so he realized this was no easy opponent so he put down his bags and brang out his Kunai before charging towards Coyote, after several hours of fighting, Roy had no chakra left and struggled to keep up, at this point Coyote put a kunai to Roys cheek before taking it back again. At this point Roy was confused, Coyote had decided to
turn back, put his robe on and carry on walking towards the opposite direction Roy was travelling in, whilst walking away he dropped a note, Roy ran towards it, opened it up to see the word ‘’Iwagakure.’’ Astounded by the mystery behind the man Roy decided some time during his travels he’d visit the village of Iwagakure.

Not being able to reach Iwagakure without travelling through the Land of Fire, Roy carried on his travels knowing there would be ninjas who were powerful than him on his journey. As he arrived in the Land of Fire, he stopped at a nearby rest where he met a weird looking man who went by the name of Goro Kaguya. The two met in quite a weird situation where Roy had been attempting to go to sleep whilst Goro had been causing a raucous nearby whilst being as drunk as one man can be. When Roy tried stopping him, he was beaten up with ease, he had fought with all his might and couldn’t understand how he was so easily beaten. Fortunately less than a second later, Goro had gotten tired and fell asleep. The next day he woke up to explain to Roy that he had a lot of orphans asking him to teach him techniques, Roy -having all the time in the world- agreed to take Goros students with him and become his underling. Luckily for Roy, Goro agreed and from that day on Roy became the Senpai of Goro Kaguya.

New beginnings.

After several more years, Roy was done teaching the students who were hassling Goro and decided to carry on his journey, not forgetting the note left by the mysterious man who had once beaten him up, and so with that in mind he took off once again towards the village of Iwagakure.
During his travels he met several Iwa nins who happened to be on missions away from the village, at first he thought they were all ruffians and nothing more as he was exposed to those like Selendrile who was just a rude person who did nothing but fly on his clay birds all day, but then as he met more and more those such as Kryptiic he realized it wasn’t all bad and he wasn’t making the wrong decision. Upon reaching Iwagakure, he asked their Kage Toku to take him in as one of their villagers, at first Toku had hesitated as Iwagakure was not the type of village to let randomers in since all of their members were loyal and trustworthy and so Roy had to wait until a decision had been made, during that time period instead of wasting time he decided to practise on the outskirts of Iwa, this is where a person quite close to Toku, a person known as Jinbei had seen Roy and thought he was worthy of being a member of Iwagakure, being recommended by Jinbei himself, Toku decided to accept Roy and give him a chance. Shortly after joining iwagakure Roy met up with the man who had once defeated him, the man known as Coyote and this man who seemed so mysterious and cool turned out to be nothing more than an ass.

After several years of being in Iwagakure, Roy met people other people such as Hazama, Blizzard, Zwei, Hisoka, Mathias and other great people which made him happy with his decision of joining iwa and saw the village as his home.

The Letter

The day was like any other, Roy had been stationed at the gate of Iwagakure, keeping track of who goes in and who goes out. Little did he know that a messenger would be sent specifically for him. Halfway through the day, a hooded man walked in through the gates, as a normal reaction Roy had quickly jumped in front of the man and questioned what his purpose for coming into Iwagakure is, the man looked up gave the letter to Roy and turned around to walk out of the village, surprised by his action Roy decided to open the letter and not question the man further, as he opened the letter a piece of paper fell out from within. The letter was from a man called Roku, Roy had met Roku during his stay in Kumogakure, Roku was apart of a prestigious clan which only a few others were a part of, Roy had always be interested in joining in this clan but was always told he was not ready, this letter simply read ‘’It’s time for you to join the Kiyoshi clan’’ not understanding how or why he was accepted Roy smiled and carried on his duty as guard for the day, telling nobody of what had happened.

Other

- Roy is always seen carrying a gas mask which he puts on his face in order to protect himself from any poisonous gas that may be used against him in battle. In addition to that, Roy is known for carrying 3 Katanas with him at all times, two of these Katanas would be on his left side, whilst the third would be on his right side.

Curse Mark

-During his travels, Roy was bitten by an experimental mad man known as Nexus, the bite had led to his gaining of the infamously know Curse Mark of Heaven, which allows him to call forth a boost of chakra allowing him more power than usual.
