I read the Darren Shan Cirque books and loved them.
Not read Percy Jackson books might do soon though as I have heard good things.
The film sucked though as many book to film adaptations do. I mean the bit where they would walk infront of where the archers where aiming at and be like "WOAH DON'T SHOOT THE HERO!!!" I was thinking well numbnuts don't walk through an archery range

Dude you are totally right, the movie was the stupidest thing I've ever seen. It was not related at all to the book, so their were no spoilers at all, they just started making things up after the first 2 minutes of the movie hahaha but its really good so I recommend it man.

Haven't read them but the best series I have read is Eragon. All of those books tell such amazing stories and leave you wanting more. The movie didn't do Eragon any justice.

Re: Percy Jackson, best series?
I read this at the same time as Fablehaven, I thought Fablehaven was waaay better than Percy Jackson.
Artemis Fowl is better too.
My personal opinion.

Re: Percy Jackson, best series?
I liked the original 5, but with the new series now, especially The Son of Neptune, I'm disappointed. I'd have preferred to see a new series but with only the romans instead of both the romans and the greek. Oh well.

Re: Percy Jackson, best series?
I approve wholeheartedly. Though the Heroes of Olympus series is nowhere near as good imo. I liked the first-person perspective in the first 5 books. The third person perspective did make the books seem a bit...more developed but at the sake of humor. ><'

Yeah, called The Heroes of Olympus. It's a series featuring the Roman aspect of the Greek Gods. It's pretty good but not on par with Percy Jackson.

Re: Percy Jackson, best series?
No, not even close. Don't get me wrong, I've read them all and enjoyed them thoroughly. But no way is it the best. I recommend the Lost Years of Merlin. A really good fantasy series.

Percy Jackson is not a bad book in terms of plot but I would like to point out that the author clearly uses a obvious meathod and style of writing , which is Time , Setting , DeadLine and Plot. He arranges the book in such a way that it is clearly visible .
A casual layman reader may not not ice it but a person who anylizes books and not only reading it would find the book to be child's play . Any author would feel the same.
I would also like to add that it sucks in terms of character's movement.
Books are classified into 3 main parts . One focuses more on character development and the other in terms of Plot.
Here are my analyzing for both
Harry Potter
Plot: Constant and Dynamic , Leading up to an ending. Ending already formed in mind
Character Development: The character grows and matures , and his viewpoints change. He is a dynamic character who has shown to have changes throughtout the series . It passes in terms of Litery
Style of Writing: Abstract and not easily copied. Well Done
Percy Jackson
Plot: Mostly consist of one shot stories unrelated to the next book . Bah..not too bad , but still..
Character Development: Stagnant and so fails in this aspect
Style of Writing: Average and can be copied by many starting authors.
----------------
Verdict :Though most books have trouble putting litery fiction and plot based fiction together to form a unsion of one , Harry Potter has done that and Percy Jackson series has failed to do so..though percy jackson is not a bad book , it cannot compare to Harry Potter

Not even close....If you think HP and Percy Jackson series are the best..then you need to go to a bookshop and buy more books and read series like game of thrones, WOT, Stormlight archive or Malazan book of the fallen
