      Mathematics Department

      Mathematics Department

      Most of us have homeworks and assignments to deal with while trying to be active on NB. I know for a fact that it can be hard to join both lifes and still be successful. So, in order to try and make your time on NB more productive, I've created this thread for those struggling in the fields of mathematics and physic. Follow the template bellow and I'll be glad to help you with whatever problem you encountered during your studies. Just remember these things; I too make mistakes, challenge my answers if you feel I'm wrong, I am not all knowing so there are most likely questions I will not be able to asnwer. I'm only here to serve as a guideline when I know and understand the matter at hand.

      1) First of all, either post the question or equation to your problem. You can use the website bellow to generate readable equations when necessary or simply take pictures of the problem directly from your book (or the notes you used to write down the problem) and post it here. Such effort from your part is appreciated since it's easier for me to understand the problem with a visual support.

      Online Equation Editor

      2) Explain what you don't understand.

      3) Explain how you approached the problem and tried to solve it before coming to this thread. If I feel you haven't made any real effort and are simply giving me your homework to solve, I won't respond to your request.

      This is charity people. I'm trying to help the members of this community so please don't spam or abuse this thread.

      Furthermore, as I help solve your problems, the solutions will be included to this post. So, before asking for help please consult the solution library below.

      *PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME VIA VM OR PM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FOR ANYTHING RELATED TO THIS THREAD.
      **Keep this thread clean so others can look through it without getting lost.
      ***Post as many pictures of your work as possible so I help you better.

      Create a proof that shows that no three positive integers a, b, and c can satisfy the equation a^n+b^n=c^n for any integer value of n greater than two.

      These data provide a useful context for students to discover the fundamental principle
      that correlation does not imply causation. *They also give students an opportunity to
      explore data transformations and to consider whether a causal connection is necessary
      for one variable to be a useful predictor of another. *People per television is negatively
      associated with life expectancy, and the log transformation makes it a slightly
      better predictor of life expectancy than people per physician.

      People! You don't seem to get the point of this thread. I'm not some Q&A guy , if you have random questions just google them. I'm here for real life assignments and problems. Tutoring would pretty much describe it. Please keep it on topic and stop posting random questions.

      Okay people, it's pretty simple. Izuna is willing to help you guys out if you have a problem on the domain he's willing to help. Don't ask anything else if about it, just post your problem and say why you have a problem, what you don't understand, and what you have tried so far.

      Are you any good with Engineering Mathematics, or is this thread targeted for mostly middle and high school level stuff? If you're proficient in it (Engineering-tier stuff) then I would like for you to help with the problems I missed via red 'X' here.

      I would tell (and show) you the method I used to find the answers but if you've never studied this type of stuff it would take way too long (series/parallel-combo circuity).

      As a note, even though I took the test a few months back, I'm preparing for some exams and things like this tend to pop-up.

      Its been a couple of years, but I'll do my best to help with that. it was my major in college ^_^

      Edit:
      3) I believe the answer is 172 ohms. If R9 is shorted you would ignore the value of R10 since it would take the path of least resistance (across the short)
      source: http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_1/chpt_5/7.html

      4 & 5) I did this quickly so double check my work. Breaking it into nodes, we have:
      R1= 100
      R6=12 since R2//3 is shorted (due to R2=0)
      R457=40
      making R6//457=9.23
      R8910=96
      Rt=100+9.23+96=205.23
      Vt=440V
      It=440/205.23=2.14A
      Pt=2.14*440= 943.33W

      R2, R3, R4, and R6 give me the most trouble here. It obviously wants you to break the circuit down like this:

      R2 and R3 are in parallel so you have to create a R2,3 to put in series with 6 then parallel that with R4,5. Gets kind of complicated, but I think you're right on number 3 at least. Thanks for the help.

      Thats what I did. My advice is to check with some classmates. Then form/join a study group for the test. When you get a bunch of people together, someone is bound to know the answer.

      Please read the original post properly. Do not ask questions if you already know the answer. People are trying to help each other with genuine mathematical problems not challenging each other pointlessly. I am sure many people can just Google and reply that for you.

      Such posts as yours in this thread are spam and will be infracted.

      From what I can tell the equation has no solution. Are you sure the queation is written correctly?
