Why would he prematurely clench his arm... Better yet, why would he clench his arm while thinking about that if he's talking about something different out loud. It's just too unlikely and weird for Kishi to do...

He talks about it out loud 1 second later... and that's normal. He went from a "nice happy moment" to an angry memory. He clenched when changing topics.

or he noticed sasuke trying to analyze him ... which is possible because sasuke is known to be an observer and he would do something like that in this situation.... so he does the ninja thing and starts to lie and might I say rather good he does everything perfect to make sasuke believe him thus making it so tobi can be close to him and tobi wants sauke for something and i think he says somewhere in the manga but hey you never know

Yea, he did infact lie to Sasuke plenty of times, especially telling him that the Nine-Tails attack 16 years ago was a natural disaster...

Oh, and Tobi did state that he wanted to sync Sasuke to Gedo maze? idk whats that about..

He is clenching his Zetsu arm. Somewhere along the way Tobi lost an arm and replaced it using Zetsu material. I believe he lost that arm during the process of getting Madara Izuna's eyes.

So...thats all Tobi meant by an "empty shell of his former self". There's no hidden meanings. It was all meant to deceive the Kages into believing that Tobi was Madara. And we all know now that Tobi is not Madara. Case closed.

I don't believe this. Tobi could be Madara's split clone he did before his death ala Muu. Would explain why Tobi is shell of his former self, why he didn't used any Jutsu yet. He could aswell fuse with Edo Madara now when we're at it. There must be hidden meaning to this.

This chapter confirmed it! That's how all of his organizations ended up becoming evil. He was secretly working with Madara and on a way to revive him. Tobirama didn't actually die that night against those ninjas, he faked his death
