System to overcome "Troll" threads
First of all I have no problem with how the mods do there job, I think they are excellent at it, I was just asked to post my ideas by a couple of people.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Now everyone in Narutobase should relies that the Mods also have lives and can't be active all the time (they need to sleep at some point). So I have a possible suggestion for get around "troll" threads if no mods are active.
A restricted thread close system which allows members to vote to close threads. It could be a kind of "respect" system. For example you need the following conditions to be able to qualify;
1) A high respect rating (say over 1,000-1,200) to demonstrate that you are a credible member
2) Have at least 1,000-1,500 posts to demonstrate you know the base well
3) Have been a part of the base for at least 6 months - 1 year
Only once you have met these restrictions can you vote to close a thread and even then the thread can only be closed if 10-15 such members vote to do so. These restrictions (or higher level ones) need to be in place so that people that qualify don't become "thread closing trolls/ mini mods". I would suggest some additional restrictions such as;
1) Any one member can only vote to close a thread once
2) A time limit, i.e 1 vote every 4-5 hours, so that members can't abuse the system, and are forced to only vote when absolutely necessary
In theory it could work since Rep whoring is against the rules so this restriction would be hard to fulfil. The posting one is obviously easier, but still necessary IMO so that someone has the time to learn what a real "troll" thread actually looks like.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Again I am not discrediting the work the mods already do, since I think the reporting system works 99% of the time. But as I said I was asked by a couple of people to post it, and after the "troll event" that just happened it seemed like a relevant time.

Re: System to overcome "Troll" threads
I dont think that "posts" show how much you know the base i look at the page like every hour and read many threads, but i am just no one that post in every thread.

Its nice idea, however, like last time, you would need to install such program and it could still be abuse with Trolls. By means of program, some computer thing, which with little to no computer knowledge or aware of, does not exist.

I totally agree. I just edited my post to suggest a restriction be that the person has been a member for 6 months - 1 year. That may be more appropriate then the post count, and certainly more inclusive of members like yourself.

I agree with you, I also have no idea about computers so I don't know how much work it would be for the admins (and thats the last thing i want to do is add more work). But at the end of the day this is just an idea, and like I said I personally don't mind the job the mods do, but I can understand why others are frustrated.

, really? If yours was first I can request mine be taken down (that would be ironic, making more work for the mods).

I already suggested 90% of this, didn't work, though I hope the 10% affect something

 I don't mind it for the most part, some are actually kind of funny. But like I said I have no problem with the job the mods currently do I was just asked to make a new thread with my ideas in them.

Didn't know that. Like I said earlier I have no idea about computers. What my post is asking may be completely impossible to implement.

Re: System to overcome "Troll" threads
good idea I like It However say the system started tomorrow , people would need 1000 respect points to be able to do this , do you know how long it takes to even get 1000 rep points , maybe just people with 1000 REP points would be easier as some people are near to it or have got them and are usually well respected members anyway who obviously must speak for the people if they have gotten that much rep they must share similar opinions with a alot of others ?
And also it would start the system faster and get current troll threads gone

Re: System to overcome "Troll" threads
I like the idea
But...
i want to mention the disadvantages also, (we should look both sides right?)
This will increase the work for mods..
noobs spamming their profile, Why the hell my thread got closed or sh*t like that and mods have no idea why?
Also, if a LEGIT thread with many disagrees came, it will be closed even though its legit,
For eg : that blaze release thread " oro will take over madara body"
That was good for some people but stupid for others...
people might abuse this system , because their fav char is being hated or something...
like a thread like " sasuke weak"
Many think he is strong so they will get it closed.
All mos of NB just posts on thread just after reading the title and not reading THE OP,
...
---
^ jsut mentioning some CONs, but i like the idea,

Re: System to overcome "Troll" threads
If its a troll thread, don't reply/post in that thread and just report the first post and let the staff handle the rest.
