Sword Art Online

For all of you Sword Art Online fans out the, if you have not already heard, A-1 animations made its final episode last Saturday. For the rest of you guys, and gals, who have not read the light novels nor seen the anime, go read/watch this series now. It will change you.*
Anyways, back to my original train of thought, SAO. It's very unfortunate, IMO, that they do not seem to be continuing into GGO or the other storyline shut I am content with the series. Kirito is a model protagonist, risking his life to save others, and he should be commended. And, if we are to commend Kirito, we should also commend Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of the game. Here's to SAO, so far my favorite anime of this year. May it forever be a treasure. If you have a favorite character from this series, let's hear who it is!*

Re: Sword Art Online
not trying to bash or hate, but in my honest opinion (and yes, i watched all 25 Eps.), this anime had great potential but in the end it didnt meet expectations... probably why they wont continue the story (if that's the case)... i have heard the light novel explains things further and it's overall much better than the anime, but i havent read it myself (and probably wont) so i couldnt confirm... cant say those 25 episodes were a complete waste of time, there were some good moments, specially through the first 10 or so episodes. so it wont hurt to check out. this is only my opinion. by no means should this encourage anyone to avoid this series, everyone has different likes and dislikes.

It's a shame that you might not read the light novels. I thoroughly enjoyed reading them, I even have them on my iPad.

Kirito is my man!
Imo, I love the show, but unlike the first arc, the 2nd arc was a bit short, and pretty typical. I hope if they do another arc that its longer, has more story, and more suspenseful parts.

Light novels don't have drawings, it's all text which no one wants to read.

It has a few drawings but not much. I think one comic panel per chapter

GGO will be coming in the the second season, which will most likely start late next year. Of course, the second season hasn't been confirmed yet, but based on SAOs popularity in Japan, a second season very highly likely. Probs, the main reason why they didn't continue with GGO, is because they want to milk the first season and make the highest profits.

Re: Sword Art Online
I personally enjoyed SAO, it had its flaws and a lot of things were rushed but overall it was still a pretty fun ride in my opinion. I personally preferred Accel World (another series created by the same author) though.

Re: Sword Art Online
While not here (too much) yet from what I've seen, this anime gets a lot of undeserved hate. That pissed me off, because I loved this shit. People can say it's bad writing or whatever they want, which would make them objectively wrong, but either way I personally liked it.

Exactly, that's what's important, and that's all that matters. You are a good man.

Re: Sword Art Online
Well there were definitely a number of things about it I wasn't perfectly fond of (episode 14 mainly) but I mean overall I personally thought it was a pretty awesome run and what can I say, anime is there for entertainment so if that's done right why sweat the details?
