Pain wins the immunity challenge!
Pain is immune to genjutsu. Nagato is not, but his Paths are.
Genjutsu is a technique that manipulates the flow of chakra in the victim's brain, thus causing a disruption in their senses.
Nagato used chakra receivers to reanimate deceased corpses.
So how exactly was ANY genjutsu working on his Paths(dead people)?
(And please omit the MEP from any answer because Nagato would get caught in that one and he's not the discussion. The 6 Paths are the main topic).

Re: Pain wins the immunity challenge!
Clearly Pain is not immune to genjutsu, given Jiraiya's frog song. That being said, they are susceptible to genjutsu because they are reanimated bodies. They aren't dead.

Re: Pain wins the immunity challenge!
even if the pain are immune
Nagato is not, when Genjutsu is cast on them, it hits nagato
if nagato is in genjutsu, so is Pain
so pain is not immune to genjutsu
thread over xD

By "reanimated bodies", I mean the bodies are riddled with chakra rods that Nagato is controlling in order to allow them mobility. The body's brain is still dead.

Re: Pain wins the immunity challenge!
Ok so the point of this is to explain y i think shared vision doesnt = 6 paths under genjutsu
As most of us kno genjutsu works by inserting your chakra into your
opponents brain area of chakra network makein them feel/see what u want
Now lots of people think Tsukuyomi 1 pain all fall but the paths only share vision not chakra and its the chakra affecting your chakra network thats creates the genjutsu
My reasonin as to y paths dont share chakra is preta path
It sucked up narutos sage chakra yet it was the only 1 to turn to stone
This also brings to light the fact that chakra absorbed by preta path benefit only that path if that wasnt the case nagato would have had more chakra from what preta path got from village
On a side note
plz people nagato isnt weak to genjutsu ..the toads said j man
was never good at genjutsu so pain wouldnt see it comeing
And when he was caught he praised j man sayin i never thought u
would have such a poweful genjutsu so ya genjutsu is every1s weakness

Re: Pain wins the immunity challenge!
Immune is totally the wrong word. They can be caught, though the can very effectively escape practically all genjutsu we have seen thus far.

Genjutsu manipulates chakra in the brain. The chakra in each Path has no hardline to Nagato's brain, thus having no logical reason why genjutsu cast on a Path would travel THROUGH the air and all the way to Nagato.
Thread on.

My question is though: How can you manipulate the chakra in a dead brain?

The chakra rods are just for control and are a means of having the six paths. The Paths are all reanimated corpses. If they were dead and relied only on the rods, then killing them (as Naruto did) wouldn't do anything. Also, they wouldn't be revived by the King of Hell. Think about it.

The pains were caught by jiraya in genjustsu. The pains are not immune to genjutsu...far from it.

Yes, it can be manipulated, considering Pain was initially trapped in Jiraiya's Frog Song (i'm only talking about audio based genjutsu here, visual wouldn't work for totally different reasons I say). What i'm saying is, Nagato, who will remain unaffected (He wasn't left drooling by Frog Song), can very easily break the Paths out of such illusions by disrupting the chakra flowing through his rods. The paths cannot be 'immune' to genjutsu if they are able to be caught in the first place.

Fair enough. I give. lol
So we're establishing that Nagato can virtually *reactivate*(for lack of a better term) a dead corpse? Along with blood/chakra flow and brain activity as well?

I'm tryin to find logical reasoning for this as opposed to just accepting it because "it happened once, so it's true and that's that".
