      Did Bleach let you down?

I remember I only got into bleach because Toonami just so happened to play the fight between Ichigo and Grimmjow one night and I thought it was the greatest thing I ever saw.

      Pros

-Ichigo vs Soul Society (Best arc IMO)
      -Aizen's Betrayel
-The introduction of arrancar and their spanish motif
      -Ichigo vs Grimmjow and Ulqiorra
      -The Captains vs Aizen war

      Cons

-Every Filler (on top of the fact that they were placed in the middle of an arc)
-In retrospect the story of Bleach is very short, as in real lifeIchigo was literally in Bankai for about 3-4 years and mangawise 1 day?
-Aizen was literally too OP, so yes there is such a thing as too OP
-Then he gets completley trolled by a more OP Ichigo, Ichigo uses most OP move and doesn't even kill Aizen.
-Ichigo "loses" his powers forever and then they found a way to get it back? No just no that is not how a story works.

IMO it seems like a shame that this anime had such great potential and was completley wasted by the people who ran it.

Also IMO it should have ended with the Aizen arc, for it appears that the Espada will be foderrized with the new villains underway.

Now they are trying to continue the story making the Quincies the main villains which is not that bad of an idea, however with all the negatives I listed it seems that its too late to save this anime.

So what do you guys think, did Bleach let you down or do you still have hopes for it?

The first bleach series rocked but the second series where he tries to get his power back sucks so much that I quit watching bleach after the first episode.

You're judging it off of the Anime which isn't very fair in my opinion. The current arc in the Manga is going great at the moment.

Bleach has already redeemed itself in my opinion. The Quincy/Shinigami conflict is an age-old power struggle and it's something that any true Bleach reader should have seen coming. In fact, it's something I've been waiting for ever since we were introduced to the Quincys and learned how they were hunted down. Needless to say, the current arc is doing incredibly well.

Fillers aren't something to be used to criticize Bleach. Fillers are to be expected in any long anime and is a given. Actually, to be honest, some of the fillers aren't even bad. The Zanpaktou Rebellion and the Soul Society Invasion were pretty damn good. One thing I like about Bleach fillers is that they usually have a story behind them and aren't a bunch of stand-alone episodes like how most of Naruto's fillers are/used to be.

As for Aizen, I won't disagree with you. Aizen being so OP is the sole reason why I disliked the entire Arrancar Arc. The action was good, but there was literally no plot. The Arrancar Arc was a carbon copy of the Soul Society Arc. It just replaced Rukia with Orihime.

In truth, we should all have expected for Ichigo to regain his powers even before he lost them. Isshin taught Ichigo how to learn the FGT and told him that it would be at the cost of his powers. He even told us that he himself used it before. Clearly Isshin managed to get his powers back, so Ichigo regaining his powers was no surprise. Personally, I saw it it coming the minute Isshin revealed that he used the FGT before.

Anyways, the plot right now is building up so much that it's mind-boggling.
An old nemesis of Yamamoto who is the leader of the Quincy, a Quincy fighting force that has even the Captains' backs against the wall, the return of old enemies who'll become unlikely allies against a common enemy (Grimmjow in particular), and a plethora of other things we've long been waiting for like Unohana in battle, the history between Isshin and Ryuken, several Bankais that have yet to be revealed, and the debut of Squad Zero. All of these have been confirmed by Kubo by the way. Kubo's going all-in on this final arc and it looks like he's going to end it with a bang

bleach never let me down. i think i was one of the few people who didnt actually hate the fullbring arc. i personally have always loved bleach even more than naruto or one piece. the fillers are only there if you watch the anime and they arent an out of the ordinary thing, in fact compared to naruto bleach fillers are quite good, i even watched a couple of them all the way through and thats saying something.

and the op aizen thing in my opinion was great it (at the begining atleast, after 200 chapters of aizen saying how awesome he was the effect kinda wore of) gave me a feeling of helplessness that i hadnt felt in a manga/anime character since orochimaru (albeit i was like 9) and i really liked that. and while ichigo suddenly becoming ridiculously op was a bit BS i liked the way urahara was the actual one to seal him, imo that made it less BS and im also a massive urahara fan so yeah .

The quincy coming back is just awesome in my opinion, who better to have the final arc against then one of the soul society's oldest and, by the looks of it most op enemies. this is the first time ever in a manga that i have actually been afraid for the main good guy organisation (SS, konoha etc.) i mean seriously these new enemies are organised, brutal, powerful and smart they have the SS driven into a corner, all these things add up to make them, imo, a force that has much more right to be feared than the arrancar. and while it was obvious they were going to come back kubo has done it incredibly well so that while it was pretty obvious it was going to happen when it did it wasnt boring. also i have a feeling that the SS are going to have done some serious wrong toward the quincy in the past which should be a nice change from the good guys being right the whole time.

oh and the thing about the bleach story being short happens in a lot of manga, for example look at naruto nearly 3 years for two days in manga time that stuff cant be avoided when you only get about 100 words of text every week.

I skimmed a bit, I disliked how the new ruler of Hueco Mundo was taken as a prisoner, so the only thing that would really drive my interest would be a more powerful Grimmjow helping the Reapers against this common enemy.

The only thing that really let me down is the Failbringer arc.

Re: Did Bleach let you down?

Okay, most of the fillers were bad, that might be right but the last was pretty good.
Bleach is unique in it's style, it wasn't a quick story to begin with. The arrancar era took over 4 years to develop, you can't expect all the people to stick to it all the time. I am a longtime fan and it remains my no.1 anime since it introduced me to the life of an anime fan. The story is good, now that I look back all the arcs had their purpose to show. Though yes,I am a bit sad to know the Quincy are the bad guys - that was the only thing I prayed for no to happen but it was pretty much obvious - if Ishida and his father survived undetected, why wouldn't the others? But still, Kubo-san said in the last interview he has a lot things to cover, he wants to explain Ichigo's existence (mother human+father shinigami) and his similarities to Kaien-dono. Okay, the good parts may be rushed - for example that Aizen fight was way too short but I know Aizen will come back,do you seriously expect him to just sit around in a shitty prison? No way,so that fight is not finished yet. We are expecting most of the surviving arrancars such as Grimmjow to come back soon (I still want Ulquiorra back). And how about the Soul King,we haven't heard about him and I think it'd be a good time to show up. Even you say it should've ended by Ichigo's fight with Aizen but I claim the opposite, there are so many unexplained gaps and the story leads on, it would be way too unfinished. I can even see the Quincy taking over the Soul Society, the main characters ending up in Hell somehow and when they get back, everything will be upside-down. Ichigo never lost his powers completely, everyone knew he'd get them back eventually, you can't just take away one's powers, we still don't know how the Quincy do it - it's just another plot twist. I respect Kubo's (the creator) decisions even though I desagree with some points. The show has it's ups and downs but it's great nonetheless.

It stopped because the creating company Studio Pierrot decided it hasn't made enough profits and because their contract with the creator ended. I think the anime might be on a hold,it will continue once the manga ends and that will take a few years. Bleach was always violent,it's pretty much one of the main aspects of the show.

The current Arc is amazing right now IMO.

Soul Society Arc was definitely my favourite.

Am I the only one who enjoyed some of the fillers? I mean at least he Bount filler was placed at an appropriate time. Plus Kariya Jin was an awesome villain. :/

Everyone shits on the Fullbring Arc. I understand is was pretty bad but i mean come on
it's a little Arc just there for the sake of Ichigo getting back his powers.

Anyways I've stuck with Bleach since the beginning, and I am 15 so I guess it is more
toward my age group where we just action and not that much plot. But the Kubo is
goin' hard on this 1000 Year Blood War Arc!
