Writer in Training! I have so much I want to write, but there's not enough hours in the day.
Fate or Hope Chapter 9
It's finally here! It's a shorter chapter again, but I really like this chapter. I didn't want to squeeze too much into it, and I know exactly what will happen in Chapter 10! There might be some repetition at the beginning, but I just couldn't seem to fix it! I tried so hard to swap between a few words to stop the repetition. This chapter is in Kota's POV again.
A child has spoken, but there was no way a child would be at a library. “Who are you?” He didn't even know why he bothered trying to talk to a little kid. A kid wouldn't know anything about him.
“That's not important,” the brat said, “what's important is that you're not weak.”
He wanted to ignore the squirt, but he couldn't understand something. He didn't speak his feelings, yet the child knew what he was thinking. 'Can the kid read minds?'
“Calm down, I'm not suspicious. I'm not even a real being anymore. I'm only a spirit of my former self. Tell me, why do you call yourself weak?”
“I couldn't protect Mavi. That makes me weak!” he exclaimed angrily.
“No, it doesn't. The only reason I'm talking to you is because your feelings were strong enough to reach me. That's what makes you strong. That's what makes Mavi strong too, right? That's how the both of you managed to survive in this world,” the brat paused for a moment, “or are you going to abandon Mavi?”
The question loomed in his head for awhile, and he found himself getting angry every time he thought about the question. He wouldn't allow Mavi to be controlled for the rest of her life. He couldn't believe a spirit of a squirt was smart enough to give good advice.
The glow started to engulf the library, until his whole entire body was covered by the glow. “I'm running out of magic power, so I'm afraid I won't be able to help you anymore after I disappear. For some reason, I feel regretful when I'm talking to you.”
He tried to move his arms again, and he was able to move them that time with no problems. He got off the floor, and to his surprise he was able to get up. “Wow! I don't feel the pain from Tatsuki's kick, and I can move again!” He looked in the direction of the glow, and he didn't even see the spirit of the squirt. The only thing he was able to see was a purple jewel. 'Was that there before?' He walked over to the jewel and picked it up. It was so tiny, but the light from it seemed familiar. “This light...” It was the same warmth he felt when Tatsuki tried to force him to work for him.
The warmth disappeared, and so did the voice of the spirit. If that orb saved him from Tatsuki, then it should have been with Mavi. 'What is it doing here?' It was one of the few clues he had to find Mavi. The only other clue he had were the fits she had, and whatever she said during them. 'I'm going to talk to Eita. She most likely knows where Tatsuki is at, and once I have that information I'll find Mavi!'
He ran to the library door, unlocked it, and then ran out of the library. He had to get home before Eita realized his plan. He was willing to fight her, if that was what it took to find Mavi. He couldn't explain the emotions that went through him, but they were emotions he never felt before. A fuzzy feeling that he couldn't shake off. A feeling that told him to give up everything just to rescue Mavi.
He ran outside of the school building, and he saw a small girl in front of the building. She looked like she was seven, maybe eight years old. She had short, straight silver hair that barely touched her shoulders. Her bangs covered her whole entire forehead. Her bangs seemed messy compared to her hair that looked like it had no knots. She had red eyes that looked similar to the color of a beautiful rose, just after it bloomed. She wore a sky blue blouse with black jeans, and surprisingly, she looked like an angel. That was impossible, though. She was just a little girl that had the colors of the day, and the colors of the night.
He gradually started to slow down, and stopped in front of the girl. “What's wrong, little girl? It's too dangerous to be outside, you know.”
She looked at him, and her red eyes were blank. They showed no emotion, and her expression was also blank. “The world is in danger.”
He was about to respond, but then her words sunk into his head. That girl knew about what was happening, and it appeared that she understood everything. She was either an ally, or an enemy. He had to figure out which one she was. “Who are you?”
“An impure world filled with selfishness; filled with evil. The darkness that started at a warehouse. Evil that is hidden in our world, and won't stop unless they're destroyed,” the girl said softly.
“Is Tatsuki the evil in our world? Where can I find him?” he asked desperately.
“The mask,” the girl paused, “the mask decides the fate of our world.”
Unfortunately, it is now August. I try to get three chapters a month, but once the month changes, I change FFs/OFs. You will not be seeing anymore of Fate or Hope chapters until September. Star Light will be my main work during August.
New characters are awesome, especially this girl. Who is she, how does she know this? Your questions shall be answered! Yet again, I apologize for the repetition, but I'm improving. I know I can improve more, so don't go easy on me.
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid
Re: Fate or Hope Chapter 9
Review- Loving Tatsuki. His power is the coolest. Curious about what his mask can do o_O and who's the little girl who has all the answers? Wonder what Tatsuki, Eita and Mavi are doing right now? Can't wait for next chap. Lemme know.
Btw the recent chaps are quite short.
