Well who better to ask about a village than a person who is in charge of the entire country. Although i am not sure why sasuke would ask them what to do.

Nope. Maybe he'll talk to Madara (which probably wouldn't help), or demand the full truth from Tobi. Maybe the elders of Konoha? They seem to know it all... The daimyos don't really know anything except for what medals to award war heroes.

That would be pointless. The Daimyo are fodder anyway with no role in the story. This is a manga about ninjas, not some pointless civilians who are lame anyway.
