How can I secure my wireless internet connection?

I have a Linksys Wireless-G Access Point, and when I woke up today someone placed a password on it, after resetting it I had access again, but now I want to place my own password on it and I don't know how.

Read the manual on how to set a wepkey for your router.

Re: How can I secure my wireless internet connection?

Read the manual. Make sure to use WPA/WPA2 as your security, and make sure to disable Wi-Fi Protected Setup(WPS).

I've tried that and it doesn't work neither does 192.186.0.1

      Click below.
      http://192.168.1.1

The default user and password are admin.
Change the router's user and pass from the default (which is why you probably got hacked in the first place).
      Then set your wireless security.
If only you are using your wireless network you can enter your MAC addresses in the MAC filter list.

Re: How can I secure my wireless internet connection?

After you set your user/pass and all the other things people have mentioned here, you can also not broadcast your SSID. Doing this will not show up as a wireless access point. So if people don't see it, they won't hack it. That or do like me and have your SSID as FBIVAN20. I leave it unsecure and no one has used my wireless.
