'There is no 'overprotective', there is simply caution.'
That was Hawke's mental mantra as he sat in one of the darker corners of one of Konohagakure's countless nightclubs, fully dressed in civilian and scanning the crowds for a certain teenage girl. His table was nicely positioned, giving him full visibility of both the bar and the dance-floor, while still keeping its lone occupant invisible and isolated from most of the partygoers.
Hawke had never really been one for 'partying' and he'd lost what little lust he had for it after he'd married Merrill. Even an Inuzuka knew to stop sniffing after other girls when his mate was a master Swordswoman.
Hawke actually snorted at that, but the small smile on his lips quickly died when he spottet his daughter making her way towards the dance-floor. She was with some of her female peers, thankfully, but there was no telling when that would change: Hawke had never smelled so many hormones and pheromones in one place.
Laura was seventeen, granted, but that didn't mean she was ready for, well, the world. Hawke clenched his fists, almost crushing the drink in his hand. Laura was a good Tokubetsu Jōnin, she'd be taking the Jōnin Test in a few months, but there were still, well, boys in this world, and some might have chloroform, or nerve gas, or a paralyzation technique of some sort. They'd hurt her sometimes, no matter what, so Hawke figured he might as well keep her away from them. Forever, if possible.
The grizzly Inuzuka almost regretted that he'd left Fenris to chase Isabela around back at the apartment. She was a good, eh, well, house mate, but damn if she didn't let his little girl do whatever she wanted to when he wasn't home. Hawke, despite the situation, felt some blood rise to his face when he thought of Isabela.
Damnit, no. Merill, not Isabela!
With a shake of his head the Inuzuka drowned his drink and zoned in on his daughter. He'd guard her for her stay and then he'd kick her ass when she came home. Laura was a good girl, she'd see reason, Hawke was sure of it.

Sado: Would you like to dance?
Yasutora Sado had been told to take time off due to his excessive work habits. He took on as much as he could handle and would work himself til he was near exhaustion. Therefor he was ordered by the higher-ups in Amegakure to take a few weeks off. They told him to travel, see the world have some fun.
Sado wasn't one for fun though, but somehow he had found himself in Konoha in a night club on the dance floor. While he was trying to not stand out he bumped into a young girl. He apologized then asked her to dance. He stood waiting on a response, as his eyes drifted towards the back of the club. He noticed an older man sitting alone drinking. His eyes set on the girl Sado was talking to.
He made eye contact with the man before turning back to face the girl who appeared to have taken time to think over the request.

Laura didn't even notice the guy until her arm painfully collided with something hard. She turned to glare at whoever had bumped into her and found herself face to chest with a huge, broad-shouldered guy who seemed big enough to classify as a building with feet. Laura blinked owlishly a few times before she mentally recoiled and looked upwards, just to find a curly-haired hispanic guy with a friendly face looking down at her.
Laura didn't look at guys like her friends did (her dad would kill her), nor did she really date anyone (her dad would kill her), nor, eh, had she ever dated anyone (her dad would kill her), and she hadn't really been at any clubs before (her dad would kill her), but the guy definitely didn't look like a regular customer. He really stood out with his confident posture and, well, height.
She almost didn't hear his question, but when one of her friends sent her an impish grin and nodded in the direction of the Giant, she smiled uncertainly and nodded, smiling at her new dance partner.
Without further ado, Laura simply started to move to the beat, nodding for the Giant to join her. Her friends gave them space and Laura made a mental note to thank them for that.

Hawke noticed the guy the second he entered the club. Curly hair, southern look, tall as the Hokage Tower, confident and sawy? The guy was dangerous, no question about that. He seemed like one of those demonic hellspawn who'd take a girl home for the night and leave without a word the next morning. He'd probably 'forget' protection, too.
Hawke almost summoned Gamabunta right there, but he kept himself in check.
'Observe, adapt, survive. Kill the assface if he makes as much as a suggestion.'
Hawke wasn't an Inuzuka for nothing; there wasn't a whisper he couldn't hear. If only the other drunkards would quiet down!
"Don't even try it, kid." Hawke whispered to himself.

Sado: My name is Yasutora Sado but most people call me Chad, can I ask your name?
Over confident guy: Look where you're going
Sado: Hey watch out, you could have hurt her
Sado began to dance with the young women. She seemed as though she wasn't used to the situation, neither was he for that matter but she had an out of place look to her as she danced. She seemed somewhat insecure with the situation and Sado could understand with his appearance that he may be a bit intimidating. He continued to dance with the girl every so often glancing back towards the back of the club noticing the man watching them closely.
Through his intense training Sado had learned how to slightly read lips. He tried to pick out a few words as the man whispered to himself "Don't even try it, kid" was what Sado had gotten from the man's fast lip movements. He seemed to be intent on watching the young girl and to Sado this seemed out of place as he was a man who appeared to easily be in his late twenties early thirties watching a possibly underage girl at a club. As Sado shifted his eyes back to the young girl he introduced himself and asked her name. As soon as that had finished an over confident sluggish man with bad posture hit into the girl knocking her forward he said something under his breath as he moved away from the girl. Sado quickly grabbed the girl not letting her fall he supported her for a second then let her stand on her own feet letting her regain balance on her own time. He called out the the over confident man telling him to watch his footing and that it was dangerous to be hitting into people like that. The random guy continued his movements not minding other's space and hitting into others as he tried groping other women.

Yasutora Sado, huh? Damnit, why did her parents have to giver her a name like 'Laura'?
The Tokubetsu Jonin sighed mentally and smiled at Sado. She didn't want him to think he was making her uncomfortable, after all.
"I'm Laura Ha-.." no, never give them your real name. Of all the girls in her circle of friends, Laura was the one with the least experience in anything outside killing and destroying. So, of course, some of her friends had seen fit to all but smother her with 'friendly' advice. Some of the rules had been made specially for her.
It wasn't everyone who had an overprotective Toad Sage as their father, after all.
"Never mind, ya wanna go gra-ah!" Before she could finish her question, however, something bumped into Laura a second time and the young woman stumbled forwards with a curse on her lips. Before she hit the floor a pair of arms grabbed a hold of her and helped her up, sparing her from the humiliation of sprawling around on the floor. She looked up and smiled at Sado. She even blushed a bit when he defended her. Damnit, you're supposed to be Konoha's next generation of Kunoichi. Get a hold of yourself!
Instead of waiting for Sado to ask if she was alright, Laura tugged on the sleeve of his shirt and began to make her way towards the bar. She knew the Giant would follow; he hadn't looked very comfortable on the dance-floor, after all.
Worming her way through the crowd, Laura couldn't help but smile as she thought of what her dad would've said if he'd seen the giant catch her.

"They won't even find the body, you piece of-..."
Hawke bit his lower lip in agitation and narrowed his eyes at the Giant. It took all the considerable willpower of the Inuzuka to keep his Killing Intent in check. To keep his grumbling in check was an impossibility at this point.
The gruff Shinobi cast a last accusing look at his daughter's back, obscured by her damn willowy raven hair, before he got up and made his way towards one of the burly Security Staff who were keeping watch over the club and ensuring that nobody got too wild.
As far as Hawke remembered you had to be eighteen to get in.
As far as Hawke remembered being thrown out was a most public and humiliating thing.
Laura had gone out without his permission, after all.

As the girl spoke her name Sado caught the first part before she cut off. As she tugged on his shirt slowly guiding him away towards the bar he noticed the man look at him with a look of resentment almost a hint of hatred was felt by Sado. He noticed the man trying to suppress his Killing Intent which at this point was slightly noticeable due to the continued watchful eyes.
Sado looked back as the man looked on toward Laura watching as she walked away. The man stood and walked towards what seemed to be the Security. At this point Sado had to ask Laura if she had noticed the man. That man watching us all night. Do you know him. Did you notice him? I mean it's kind of hard not to with that kind of resentment I'd have to be completely foolish to not notice.
Sado continues on towards the bar once there he simply orders a drink. Nothing alcoholic as he didn't want to seem like a drunkard. Just a Cola

Laura's face turned tomato-red when he said that 'he'd have to be completely foolish not to notice...' She hadn't noticed the guy at all.
Still worming her way through the crowd, Laura sneaked a peek behind her shoulder, pretending as if she was gesturing for Sado to follow, though really scanning the crowd for this 'resentmen-man'.
Sado was right; he wasn't hard to spot at all, if you were looking for him.
Laura's felt every single drop of blood leave her face when she saw who it was.
"Oh God no." she whispered mostly to herself. Her dad was here.
Laura kept herself in check until they reached the bar where the Giant of a man ordered a Cola of all things. Laura raised an eyebrow at that and ordered a glass of single malt whiskey for herself, shooting the Giant a wolfish grin.
You learned stuff when your father had to drink a bottle of methanol to get tipsy.
The grin faltered when she thought of her dad; he really was too overprotective. For goodness sake, she was seventeen and able to defeat Jonins on her better days, how could she not be ready for a night out!?
Laura shook her head and smiled at Sado...again "Why a cola? You seem like you can handle your liquor," she commented cheekily, smile growing on her face. "You don't think I can handle myself with a drink in my hand?"
Oh yeah, no guy would ever back down from that, and Laura really just wanted to ignore her father.

These friendly neighborhood Security guys were thicker than logs. Hawke had insinuated, very clearly, that one particular guest looked very young for an eighteen year old, and the guard had just shrugged.
After he'd taken a shameless look at Laura's behind... This guy was as good as dead.
Hawke sneered at the guard, who in turn told him that if he 'threatened' him again, he'd be thrown out. The little shit couldn't have been more than 25, and he definitely wasn't a Shinobi.
If the situation wasn't so extremely serious, Hawke would've laughed himself to tears.
With a growl, Hawke turned and went back to keeping an eye on his daughter, who was now egging a man twice her size to have a dirnking contest with her...
Oh, there would be a speech waiting for her when she got home; Hawke was already making it.
'Young lady, if you think you can just-...'

Sado looked down at Laura drinking his cola and then ordering something stronger. Laura had been right, Sado could not only hold his liquor but it had been one of his favorite things to do since he joined Ame after leaving Iwa the first time. He ordered the strongest thing the bar keep could serve, he was used to the dusty rock tavern in iwa, or the water-logged tavern in Ame where all the old drinkers hung out. The down on their luck drinking because they had nothing else to do kind in his mind he thought back to his days in iwa as he peered down on the young women's grin. If only she knew the Tsuchikage from iwa and how they used to drink until the sun came up or even Minato from Ame the man who could drink an elephant under the table and be ready for more. Bar-keep, can I have the strongest thing you have and keep them coming.
Once the drink came Sado shot it down like it was nothing. It wasn't to impress the girl or anyone around him just to take the edge off of the situation. He was out of place he wasn't used to other people his own age, he thought back to the man sitting in the back of the club wondering what had happened to him. Sado continued to scan the area easily seeing over everyone's head he was able to notice the man and the Security guard he noted the expression on the man's face then watched as he peered back at Laura. Honestly you seem out of place here not saying I don't, I can tell that you've noticed I stick out like a sore thumb especially in this crowd-...
The next drink came and without hesitation Sado shot it back. By now the awkward feeling had left him. His protective side was bothering him, why was that man following Laura it was all he could think of. He didn't ask because it seemed like she knew but he felt like it was his duty to protect her in some way. As Sado tried to continue speaking the same over-confident guy wedged his way in between Sado and Laura. It took everything he had to not knock the man out and leave him laying on the ground. The man ordered a drink and threw some pick-up lines at Laura. How about you and me-...
At this point Sado placed his hand on the man's shoulder and simply moved him to the side. The man didn't like this much and connected a right cross towards Sado's stomach he then yelled in pain as Sado continued talking to Laura. What are you made of? Bricks?
Sado during this whole time was playing with the small chain he had around his neck. It had a small coin on it and he'd flip it back and fourth side to side when he was out of place or bored.

Sado during this whole time was playing with the small chain he had around his neck. It had a small coin on it and he'd flip it back and fourth side to side when he was out of place or bored.
Laura grinned impishly at Sado's antics; he'd swallowed the bait, hook, line and sinker. The barkeep knew his trade, it seemed, so the drinks kept coming in a steady flow, and Laura wasn't backing down, especially not with her father staring a hole in her back.
'The condemned enjoying her last meal, or drink, in this case.' She thought to herself and smiled as she drowned what must've been her sixth shot of whiskey. She wasn't even tasting them anymore; they just went down to join their brothers and sisters.
Engrossed as she was, deep in her cups, Laura almost didn't notice when Sado began to talk.
"Who, me?" Yes, her. Laura mentally kicked herself for that comment and tried to salvage the situation. "Nah, I don't come here often, but sticking out ain't as bad as it sounds." It must've been the alcohol in her body, but Laura felt herself smile and continue. "Especially if I'm sticking out with y-hey!" she exclaimed, startled by the stranger who'd decided to barge in and ruin a perfectly good moment!
Laura took a deep breath and calmed herself. Or tried and failed to do so when the guy turned his glassy gaze in her direction and all but asked her to come to his place.
Just to be pushed away by Sado, who received a fist in his gut as a thanks.
Sado, in turn, merely played with some antique coin he had in a chain around his neck.
Fuming, Laura turned to drown another glass of whiskey when she felt a familiar presence. Laura sucked at sensing other peoples chakra, which could only mean...
"Dad, don't!" she yelped and spun around, but damned if being 35 hadn't even slowed her father down.

Hawke saw the man approach the duo.
He also saw him lean against the counter and turn his eyes on Laura.
Finally, he heard the man's suggestion.
A second later Hawke's Curse Mark exploded, enveloping the grizzly man in a criss-crossing pattern of cyan-glowing Lyrium tattoos.
The second after, Hawke's body connected with the man's, smashing him against the bar-counter with the force of a raging rhino. The drunkard didn't even manage to widen his eyes before Hawke's left hook rid him of several teeth. His startled scream was stifled by a haymaker that turned the right side of his face into a bloody pulp.
Hawke's face was a mask of controlled rage. His killing intent kept all witnesses silent and the loud music of the club kept the rest of the partygoers blissfully unaware of the beating that was taking place in the same room.
Hawke completely ignored her daughter's outraged demand for him to 'stop' or 'let go' or whatever. There'd be plenty of time for 'stopping' later, when this guy was unrecognizable to his own mother.

Sado still slightly glancing over towards the man who was watching Laura immediately noticed the activation of the CM. He shot back his next drink performed a single hand seal before grabbing Laura lightly in his arms. He moved at an astonishing speed removing her from the situation at hand taking her a safe distance away from the two but close enough so that Laura could continue her yelling, she was now to the left of her father who continued beating the over-confident man from earlier. So, your father I presume?
Sado looked towards Laura as he asked. After a few second he pulled her father from the now battered man who tried to crawl away from the situation. Anymore and you'll kill him then well I'm not sure if you'll be on good standings with this village.
