Does anyone else on NB use Ubuntu Linux?

I'm just curious to see if there are other people out there that know about Ubuntu Linux. I first came across this operating system last year and have been using it ever since..the best part is it's free. From my experience..it's very fast..and has a bunch of convenient features by default.

I use ubuntu for programming (studying right now) and true it's very fast... but I get problems when I want to plug it to an external screen <.<

I use Arch Linux. That's for advanced Linux users, though.

Yeah it is fast....I once used it...but now i am using win 7....

BTW every operating system is free

Most of those issues have been solved in 12.10...at least for me anyway :P

Yes it's safe, and it's good. If you are willing to learn something new I'd recommend trying it out.

@Toxic, It's a completely different operating system. You wouldn't be on the windows platform. It's more like Mac then anything. You can make a LiveCD or flash drive to boot into it without making any changes to your computer at all. Ubuntu 12.04 is the latest LTS version of Ubuntu. (Which again is the operating system).

I've used Gentoo, Funtoo, Slackware, Arch, Debian, Red Hat, Solaris 3-7, and am currently running Debian Testing (wheezy). I've been using GNU/Linux for the better part of 13 years now.

However, I refuse to use Ubuntu. If you actually care why I refuse to use Ubuntu, I can send you an elaborate explanation as to why the distro itself is poorly managed and why it is a terrible distro in general.

I do, simply wanted something other than windows and I can't really stand MacOS.
I have tried other distros, but unfortunately only a few, I've got a cd with lots of different ones that I'll be trying out in the near future! It's going to be fun!
